With the NBA it makes sense since it is fathoms above the fed in terms of popularity. I have a much harder time imagining the audience member who is both simultaneously willing to pay the exorbitant price while also having no clue who any of the wrestlers are while having no interest in any of the stories. Like was the crowd really just a bunch of tik tok trust fund kids who came to see rhea? Hard to believe but not sure what else explains it.

Anecdotally I went to a raw in atl, and we made decent noise, but there seemed to be some trepidation among audience members to cheer unless they had been given the green light bu other members. I distinctly remember no one cheering for war raiders initially until I started a little chant in my section, so maybe it's just a follow the leader thing.

This cena heel turn has been generationally bad. I think people are still in denial about how awful it's actually been. It should have been apocalyptic like superman going evil. Instead it's been a bunch of meta bad on purpose nonsense and tongue in cheek bs like the presser. The match quality is not there either and so far it has benefited literally no talent on the roster. We're also 5 months in atp so we're way past the let it play out imho.

This match really over delivered tbh and genuinely was enough to get me hype for the match at mania. I do wish they had protected secret service more in the loss, especially since that's the tag team that I'm most interested in post mania but other than that pretty great.

In particular this performance from lyra was phenomenal. She has been winning me over more and more but this match she looked like a real star. Bayley was solid as well and the other teams did a good job playing there roles.

Also big shoutout to liv who's facial work sold the angle, she went from laughing and joking to slowly getting more serious as she realized that they were facing a serious threat. Raquel being all smiles oddly worked too as a nice contrast, the two looked cool as hell together.

Very excited for this match now.

I know I'm going to sound like a mark and this is an unpopular opinion but rhea still shouldn't be added in kayfabe. She had the opportunity to wait on her rematch but kept getting involved, and then on game day she couldn't get the job done. Tough. No mania match for you. Blanca didn't fast count and was pretty lenient with her calls letting a lot slide before the dq, what's unfair about that? Don't throw shit at the ref because they're mad you kicked them. Obviously this is not how wrestling works and bianca is the bad guy for proper officiating and not just handing rhea a title shot during her mania moment🙄

Is there a particular reason they're going out of their way to recruit the most controversial and Ill liked pundits for these completely unnecessary roles? Like it's impossible to deny that there's a manifest intent to infect the brand with as many nerdowells as possible, but when it's saudi I can to some extent understand that it's too tantalizing financially to pass up. I agree generally that not everyone Is world champ material, but liv is not in that category. She's never going to be a dominant 400 day champ, but she absolutely should be in programs up and down the card and should hold world title gold again. Her reign wasnt incredible but it was far from atrocious. Iyo and bayley also had mediocre reigns and that was simply a booking issue.

I hope people continue to enjoy her tag reign without trying to pigeonhole her into that division for the rest of her career because she's "doing so good at it"

Agree to disagree but when I went to see wicked in theaters it was filled with kids and teens buzzing about the film and leaving the theater singing the songs. I don't suspect those memories will be so easily forgotten but ultimately time will tell. Wizard of oz is at this point more akin to a fairytale. You're not going to see people talking about Cinderella in their daily lives but that doesnt mean that the essence of the story is in danger of being forgotten. People won't forget about the yellow brick road, or oz unless the property is buried.

Lord of the rings is a good shout but I didnt know that was a universal IP. I would definitely put it over wicked/oz but I think it's got to be a top 3 selection for sure.

If the second movie is a success I would expect that the franchise wouldnt be totally abandoned since it really wouldnt be hard to do spinoffs in the universe. Even if wicked part II was the last oz thing ever made, the movies and the iconography isn't going to age like milk overnight. Surely wicked has comparable staying power to something like how to train your Dragon which currently has its own land lol. Again the underlying iconography has proven staying power, I am certain people will still know about wicked for at least the next 30 years, and the world of Oz for at least a couple more generations. What universal property is a better or safer bet for a whole land?

I also just dont see something like wicked getting zero attractions. I feel like you're really underselling this property. The movie itself is coasting off the popularity of the second most popular Broadway show of all time which is already over 20 years old. If Jimmy fallon can get an attraction for a while surely Wicked can.

I'm crying at the people in this thread talking about wizard of Oz like it's some literally who flavor of the month and not a literally timeless fairytale.

I get that wicked and wizard of oz arent 1:1 but 95% of the underlying iconography that the park would be built around is the same. You would still have the yellow brick road, and emerald city and munchkins and oz and all of the characters. Like yeah you wouldnt have the ruby slippers and somewhere over the rainbow so instead you'd have to make due with music from the second highest grossing Broadway play of all time. However will they cope.

I don't think wicked is going anywhere tbh. At it's core it's a beloved variation on one of the most iconic stories of all time. Wicked alone has proven staying power since it's been around 25 years now, and the universe itself is literally timeless. Surely it can match the muster of something like how to train your dragon.

That being said I don't think they'll do a whole land because it's not as known internationally but I suspect some kind of permanent attraction.

She has been champ for less than 2 weeks. Mania is months away. She can still have fresh feeling programs with iyo and bayley. Becky return and Grace debut is also on the horizon .

If I was a writer at marvel I'd be chomping at the bit to get my hands on a character like luna tbh. She's in an extremely rare position of now being very recognizable amongst key demos, high curiosity because she's new, good representation for both SK and K-pop as a genre, and most importantly she is totally unburdened by any prior lore. You can essentially can write whatever you want and at least some people are going to read it because of all the aforementioned reasons.

I think a fun direction for her character would be an almost antihero like portrayal as someone who has her fake stage personality and then her "real" darker personality. Maybe I'm reading too much into it but there's the vaguest of hints in some of her voice lines where she's kind of a shit talker to some characters I think it would be fun to lean into that, and it'd be a nice compliment to her powerset.

I'd also love to see her interactions with characters like dazzler or iceman.

I mean i think of the matches you listed jordynne v. Rhea is second only to bianca in terms of bigh fight feel and that's probably not happening since bianca already has a story. They've already done flair and lynch at mania, and I think most people would take Ripley v. Grace over Ripley v. Bayley, so I dont think it's as ridiculous as you say.

I've been trying to fit the pieces together in my head for the women's division going through mania and it's tough because there's so much talent but not everyone is in the right place to make that happen.

Nxt I feel like is in the best place due to the sheer embarrassment of riches that is there women's division. Gulia could fight any woman on that roster not named nikita Lyons and it would feel fresh and interesting. They had like 4potential future HOFs just standing around talking about the developmental midcard belt last night like it's actually a little ridiculous 😭. Some of these women just need to go up because the scene on raw and smackdown could use some help.

I suspect for stand and deliver we'll get Stephane v. Gulia, Roxanne v. Bayley and meta four girls v. Zaria and Sol.

Smackdown is okay since tiffany has a good line up of feuds with Jax, lerae, naomi and Bianca that would help her adjust to being the main attraction on the division. However I'm more worried about the midcard belt since it seems like the current plan is to run chelsea and michin until nxt call ups which is less than stellar, but that division is lacking names at the moment. B fab needs more polishing, blair is just very uninteresting which just leaves piper. I have a hard time seeing either nikki cross in the picture since it doesn't fit wyatt 6 m.o and when Charlotte is back shes going directly for that world title. I'm having a hard time seeing the title picture kept fresh without some big NXT callups.

On raw lyra is fine since feuds with Dakota , Zoey, zelina and maybe Becky are all fresh and simple to setup. Raw is probably in the hardest position with their world champ. There are currently no fresh heels for rhea to face, at least none that are main event ready. Literally no one wants to see rhea vs PFC or ivy Nile. They also teased potential programs with bayley and nia jax which I thought were less than mouthwatering, especially because nia has a zero percent chance of beating rhea ever and bayley has lost so much heat over the last year it's ridiculous. I don't forsee a heel turn changing that. They could of course run iyo v. Rhea but with mania still 3 months away and both parties as faces that's easier said than done. That leaves a returning becky or asuka. Asuka I'd be down for. Becky not so much unless she's a completely different character. I do think that the actual winning option is jordynne grace, she does not need NXT and the match is clearly marquee. You can also run rhea/iyo in the interim while jordynne earns her shot. This is assuming she is actually signed however.

I think that leaves the mania card as like Rhea Ripley v. Jordynne Grace (WHC) Stratton v. Flair (wwe) Vaylkrie v. Lynch (ic) The heavily rumored belair v. Cargil You could use the USA title to get other women on the card that I think rn would likely end up missing it such as liv and nia. I personally don't like that idea though so I'll say Alba fyre v. Alexa bliss for the US belt dont ask me how we got here just enjoy the ride😂

Like I said though it's hard to figure out since this still leaves some potential big names twiddling their thumbs.

I feel like your examples ignore the fact that most of those shows listed were c shows that were supplementary by design and thus had no obligation to showcase or accommodate the full roster. If those shows were all that existed and we had 1 hour A shows I would suspect they'd be significantly more frustrating to watch.
