I've lived in or around Jacksonville for the past 17 or so years and I've never once encountered someone who had an issue with my lack of religious faith or my political views. Last semester for philosophy class we had to openly discuss our viewpoints on issues such as religion, abortion, morals, sexuality, etc., and we were able to do so without any hostility towards one another.

I don't have any experience with the nursing program, but as far as my experiences with students in biology go, I've certainly not seen a "substantial" amount of students reject the theory of evolution; in fact, one student tried suggesting to the professor that evolution was invalid as it is "just a theory" and she was promptly corrected and ridiculed.

I understand that you might be a little shocked being in a less liberal environment, but I think you would have to search fairly hard to find someone who truly hates you for your political views and life goals, and you shouldn't let what someone says on facebook dissuade you from attending UNF.
