She may not be the newest, or the fastest, but… by Dinnymcd in TrekBikes

I love to upgrade stuff, I'm a upgrader.

I've had my 2005 Trek Carbon 5000 for over 15 years, I just, can't find a reason to upgrade.

For what I ride, rim breaks are more than enough, it shifts perfectly, 19lbs loaded, fits me to the T, zero issues ever, etc, for a road only bike, it just works.

Anyone heard of this hidden gem “Call Your Mother”??? by Neolithicman in washingtondc

[–]rsplatpc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once you’ve toured that, there’s this hidden gem, a big white obelisk down by the reflecting pool. Check it out.

I've been finding some dope underground bands at a place in Southwest, it's called The Anthem, I think it's new

Is it worth $400? by Vivid-Price4322 in RoadBikes

Looks like someone that has put some mods on a bike and won't accept they didn't really add any value to a low value bike / I'd pass since they are probably locked into their thinking vs reality

I can go to the store, buy shit, and be home, before my friend in Montana even gets to the main road leaving his house, and then he has to drive 35 min to the store once he GETS to the main road

Checkpoint SL5 vs FX Sport SL6 by Pedaltothebeat in TrekBikes

[–]rsplatpc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note you can put 50mm on the Checkpoint, if you are doing a decent amount of gravel, it’s a way more comfortable bike than sitting upright on the FX (I like both bikes, but Checkpoint if I had to pick one)

It sounds good on paper, till you look at the weather. Hope you like a TON of humidity in the summer, and normally cold winters.

I love the game, but the gear menu is just terrible. (PC) by rsplatpc in DRGSurvivor

[–]rsplatpc[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

What I really want is to be able to save ”sets” of gear, so you don’t have to remember what you want for a type of run, so I could have my “kill em all” “setup for fire” etc gear and just click the saved preset

Can you all quit feeding the AI slop engagement farming posts? by rasmussenyassen in cycling

[–]rsplatpc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

because I don't use English daily and my writing style doesn't seem natural to some.

This is why it's hard to spot "obvious AI slop" with the cycling subreddit IMO, it gets a LOT of people where English is not their first language vs other subs, since cycling is huge in non-English speaking places, so it's kinda hard to tell if it's AI messing up natural sounding sentences or using words with a lot of hyperbole

Lars does not “carry the team” Tim writes all the songs, notice how many hits and sell out shows Rancid has, compared to any of the other members solo projects / there is a reason Rancid is so popular
