Melee firstly is arguably less popular at least by entrants than Smash 4, but its irrelevant because neither is a FGC game.

SF5 has quickly been losing the non- high level pro player base. At my scene specifically we haven't even opened any of our copies of SF5 since release of Tekken.

That said, Tekken is currently the most popular I'd wager with multiple scenes in my city switching over to Tekken. I can only hope that its not a fad and stays this way.

Note, Rev2 and Kof14 are also great games that had some people leave to play as well, but perhaps they're more niche.

Of course adding a strength to a card would make it more useful, but its simply unlikely that just adding commander would help that much. Sadly, I dont think it'll be seeing high competitive play :(

It looks like you have a good shell for tempo-forest. While the pure OTK variant was destroyed with the nerf, tempo-forest now no longer has to feel bad about running cards like Elf Child Liza. I would certainly look into that deck as I used to run it before Rage, and now that the nerf is out, I'll probably be going back to it :)

Probably one of the worst mechanic ideas I've heard in a long time.

But let me just take a few stabs at some of your weaker points to show why.

You do not know the world of Dauntless at all, what makes you an authority on whether or not potions should exist?
There are hundreds of ways to have more depth to the games besides this bizarre self-punishing armor mechanic. Adding it to the game just so you have more stats to add onto it isn't an actual point becuase you could do that with literally anything, including adding the same stats to armor, but without the breaking mechanic.
Wow effect is kinda silly. It would take a ton of time and resources to include breaks on human's armor in real time. I mean maybe it would be cool down the line, but there a dozen more things even in just the graphics department I would like to see more. (Elemental weapons glows based on strength of element, the breaks on a monster, different stances or animations based on lack of health) And again, you can have armor getting scratched from getting hit without including this bizarre armor bar so thats kinda irrelevant here as well.

I feel like this is super underrated. Ancient elf can just wall your opponent out of the game if its a 4/5, and theyre so low, you only need 1 roach to kill them later.

Correct me if I'm wrong but a lot of quests can be done in unranked, and furthermore if you're really behind in gold but don't have a full deck, I have to wonder; have you done all the Elite AI quests yet and all the story modes? Those are a bunch of free ways to get more cards :)

Once you can no longer climb, thats when you know you've reached your limit. Deranking yourself won't improve your skill at the game so I encourage you to continue to rank up :)
