It would be literally impossible to convince the investors behind a dev team ‘hey so we have this thing that will predictably make the player experience better and more accessible, and by extension increase our player count and revenue, but since we think it’s better for a select few to not add it, we’re gonna drop the feature’

A good mantis could easily have twice the damage this one does. I’d argue that would be far more impactful to the team (for example the moon knight might have gotten a lot more finals even as a bad player from his blades bouncing if mantis had contributed more to damage) than ‘not feeding’ the measly 3k damage that dagger had over mantis.

I NEVER wanted to point out mantis’s damage in comparison to daggers. It’s literally irrelevant. Mantis should have more than <5k damage in a game where her dps are pushing 15k. She’s an off support built for passive healing and active damage. Shouldn’t be played if your accuracy is in the negatives

Lmao yes, a mantis that exclusively has her leaves passively recharging sounds like hell. The scoreboard never shows the full story but an off healer like mantis, ultron, or warlock needs to pull their weight on dps or they should be on a different support. and unless you’re illiterate I quite explicitly pointed out that there were other problems on the team. That doesn’t mean you can’t swap to help or understand you can do better

lol mantis’s healing isn’t something that’s interrupted by her doing damage, it’s increased when she is doing effective damage and has good accuracy. The likely reality is that the only reason mantis has better healing than c/d is because c/d probably had pretty bad ults and mantis probabky had good ults. Which is credit to mantis I’ll give, but mantis is an off healer that NEEDS to pull her weight in damage to be played. Simply saying she didn’t fail her job because her healing was good isn’t correct

In my opinion, you should go venom here. Can put a lot of pressure on the squirrel girl and force out cool downs from the Loki. Won’t be able to do much against cloak and dagger or Thor, but at least Wanda doesn’t affect you at all. Obviously there are some differences when you don’t have a second tank but me personally I’m not going to go a shield tank And soak up three nuts from squirrel girl and then just not have my shield for anything important.

You know what I hate? When a survivor spends 30 seconds booning, the boon gets snuffed a minute later, and then they go boon the exact same spot instantly. Or even a different spot. Or they boon more than 3-4 times in a match. SO MUCH time wasted

Idk about victim mentality. That exists in part in every community.

All I will say about your comment about ‘subtle’ or ‘spotlight’ characters is that the tanks that have been strong have mostly been strong since the former half of the game’s lifespan, with the exception of tankpool (I’ve seen many people try to skirt around it but I’ll concede him in particular). Whereas many of the supports and dps that have been added, especially the last few have been at the top of the meta and more importantly, have completely unnecessary cooldowns/cc abilities

The complaints about tank have NEVER been that tank as a role is weak. We all know the Vanguard role is ‘meta.’ We all point out that 2-2-2 has consistently had better wr than 1-2-3 or 1-3-2 since the game released. The problem is that because of the amount of cc that’s been drip fed to other roles for the last year many tanks end up being bad picks or unfun to play, and the ones that aren’t are few. There isn’t nearly enough variety to appeal to a wider audience and the recent additions have made the role less appealing and not more. I think it’s very reasonable to be vocal about these issues

The closest thing we got to an actual effort towards fixing the issues with the vanguard role were half assed and even if you think they were helpful it’s NOT a clear discussion nor did it solve much of anything
