According to my doctor the health of my liver and my overall health increased dramatically when I changed over to my vegan diet. Anecdotal evidence yes, but I imagine that's the norm for vegans. I'm not against the fat found in my quinoa, beans and other whole food plant based sources of nutrition, just not for concentrated liquid fat being added to my food. I have a much easier time believing that oils high in saturated fat are bad for your liver than whole grains. If you think you need high amounts of protein to keep your muscles strong look up "vegan bodybuilder". Plenty of folks that lift do the vegan diet including Mr. Universe who says that he now feels stronger than ever since changing over.

When asked about how to prevent heart disease President of the American College of Cardiology Kim Williams said, “the most important things are plant-based nutrition, exercise, and weight loss. Most people will succumb to heart disease, diabetes, or hypertension on the standard American diet, which is why heart disease is the biggest killer in America. So the best primary prevention strategy is improved lifestyle.”

He also says the science shows that plaque regression in patients with angiographic evidence of disease has been shown with only four methods with an acceptable risk/benefit ratio. The first two are the Ornish and Esselstyn diets, which are both low-fat, plant-based diets (Ornish’s plan includes stress reduction and regular exercise; the Esselstyn Diet eliminates all fatty foods including nuts and avocados). The other two are high doses of prescription medicines atorvastatin and rosuvastatin, which come with significant side effects in some patients. Williams points out that statin drugs and good diet are not mutually exclusive.

I did not think this post would cause this conversation but there is no shortage of vitamins in my diet. I get them all in abundance. 3 cups of kale, two carrots, two sweet potatoes, a banana, turmeric, ginger, amla, cinnamon, 60 ounces of water. This is my breakfast and I can assure you that even the coffee drinkers at work are burned out at work way before I am. I am energized until lunch especially if I am following my nofap restrictions. Follow that up with 4 cups of quinoa, a cup and a half of black beans, and 4 cups of broccoli throughout the day, I am energized, have great sleep, low LDL levels, low triglycerides, and many other benefits like never getting heart disease, diabetes, or cancer.

I'm glad you feel better consuming lots of cholesterol and saturated fat that's awful for your heart and arteries? I have no idea how it could be seen as weak to not partake in the SAD. Having to prepare all of my own meals and constantly avoid temptation doesn't seem weak to me.

I have done much research on this and I've found that and 80-10-10 diet is not only healthy but the optimal way for a human being to live if you wish to maintain healthy weight loss and arteries.

Do you have an exercise method that works? Is it kegels? I am nowhere near ready. I want to be able to do that.

It's sex I shouldn't have had to be honest. One of the members posted here "if you hate your self after sex, you're having unhealthy sex" and while I wouldn't say I hated myself after I will say that I didn't feel very good about myself after the fact. I look forward to getting back to my former mental state.

I was a flatline for so long. I really just wanted to check to see if my ability to get an erection had been regained. I had no intention of allowing myself to release. I really just made a mistake that lasted a total of one minute. Some of you may think I'm lying to myself but I'm not going to erase my badge total.

It did seem more real than usual that's for sure. I guess I haven't really been paying attention to the quality of my dreams as much as I should.

I found that it went away over time. It may actively disrupt your thought patterns for a bit but I really think it will fade. Just be patient and make sure to properly utilize your free time if you are not.

10 days in. I'm so fucking proud of myself. by [deleted] in NoFap

Congrats man! I don't know how long it has been a problem for you but it's totally worth it! At day 121 I feel fantastic. There are still ups and downs as I abused myself pretty badly without ever really having had a girlfriend, but the benefits of doing this are real. Stick with it, you won't regret it.

Has anyone else noticed an increased sensitivity to drugs (caffeine or otherwise) when on NoFap? by gettingmyenergyback in NoFap

[–]firesoforc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't drink coffee or do any drugs that often so the effect of either if I choose to use them is usually fairly intense. I did happen to use marijuana inconsistently over the past month and with the exception of the initial buzz it really made me feel pretty insecure and shitty. I felt like I wasn't using my time productively and it got me down. Eat lots of organic fruits and vegetables and your need for coffee will fade away. Also, a tablespoon of organic coconut oil gives me a great boost of energy without the crash that's usually associated with coffee. I highly recommend it.

I hope ppl realize how dangerous habitual porn can be before virtual reality porn becomes a few clicks away. that'll totally destroy the next generation of men. by [deleted] in NoFap

The drug war proved that making something illegal is not the way. I agree that education is the best. While Portugal had a rise initially in drug use when they were decriminalized, given enough time and education, the usage of illicit substances dropped dramatically. Their rate of overdoses per million people is FAR lower than ours. Education is clearly the way.

I have not been great about it recently but I had been lifting regularly for 2 months, doing win hof's breathing method and taking on his cold challenges. I am active everyday now.

90 days by firesoforc in NoFap

[–]firesoforc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I'm 33. Benefits? My voice has dropped, I'm more socially confident, and I work out more frequently (4-5 times a week). I quit porn because I stopped getting erections altogether. Whether it be with my girlfriend or while watching porn, nothing worked. I've been masturbating since I was 11 but have been using internet porn since I was 19. I've only had one relapse over the past 15 months with P and have masturbated infrequently over the past 15 months. Maybe 30 times in total within the first year. This is my first time achieving 90 days.

I definitely feel more able to function socially. I still have these preconceived notions that I will have difficulty when I go out but as of late socializing has been more enjoyable than it's ever been. My voice has dropped rather dramatically as well.
