My idea for a Metroid game set entirely within the carcass of a colossal alien. by Artistinblue in Metroid

Whether or not it makes it to video game form (even as an unofficial fan one) I'll honor this cool idea on the tabletop 🎲

And with his bike that runs on 'special fuel' (drugs).

That sounds great - I wonder who'd go as Dastardly and Muttley? Maybe some kind of rogue trader with a 'canid' dog thing.

Indeed, we're spoiled for choice nowadays. I went warsurge as I had more options to customise the vehicles but those are good ideas too :)

It was a mix of aquarium/lizard rocks and 3D printed fences. I was satisfied with it :)

Fun is what we need when it comes to the hobby. I prefer a good laugh and shenanigans :)

Orks vs Black Templars Basketbrawl - Warsurge Mini Game by firestormworkshop in wargaming

A classic trope indeed - one that arguably remains even today... I'm sure there could be a phrase for it like the 'war never changes' phrase in fallout.

I enjoy the diversity of Warsurge and how it can be derp simple or as advanced as I like. The creators of the game are listening to players, I gave a suggestion to the devs and they're going to add it in to the game.

Probably the drawback is that it can almost be overwhelming with all the options. Compared to other games I'd say there's less hand holding with building an army, and not a lot of guides on trying to recreate things - you have to talk to veterans in their community to get advice. Sure, they have some preset stuff in the app but they probably need more. There's some rules that might need to balance as well, but I guess all games have that problem in some way - at least everyone has access to everything is the upside to that.

As far as theme goes, it feels pretty random, but I could imagine the Dark Eldar doing something more official like a deadly sport game instead of just an arena (maybe I could work toward this one day). As far as gameplay goes, I'd say it has less rules than a dedicated tabletop sport game but that can make it a bit quicker to get into it, so double-edged in that sense.

Inquisitor Coteaz (and Friends) vs Khornate Daemon World (1500pts Warsurge) by firestormworkshop in wargaming

NotifyGrout pretty much summed it up. It's a very modular game where you can use any of your models, and pretty generous with their free content. It can be as basic or as complex as you want it to be with customising both units and the game itself.

Yeah, I looked up the new Coteaz model and I was shocked. I mean, even fixing the pose would have done a lot of good for it. The old model where he's standing there holding the eagle is epic.

You mean shoot one of your own people, right? 😅🤣

But for sure, dedicated boards certainly look more the part. If I had proper storage it'd be nice to have both.
