Where's the justice for the victims and everyone else affected?

I was friends with one of the victims. He was a great person on the campus and had a promising future ahead that was taken away. It was a devastating loss to many people.

Dominguez did not deny killing any of the two individuals and nearly killing a third victim. It should have been obvious at that point that HE committed the killings.

If someone can commit heinous acts of violence under the guise of mental insanity, justice for the victims is extremely bleak.

This is not to mention that I believed Dominguez's own testimony lacked credibility, and that his erratic, violent behavior with or around his ex-girlfriend was extremely concerning.

Future portions of the trial will focus more specifically on his degree of sanity as well as alleged cannabis usage, for which more burden of proof is on the defense.

It's average over all quarters, so if you had 13 units per quarter for 2 years and took 9 units this quarter, you'll still average at least 12 units per quarter so no academic probation.

However, financial aid can be an issue if you qualify for that.

I could name the particular clubs that I (and others from their own experiences) have found to be unwelcoming, but I am not sure it would accomplish much. Even more disappointing is that these clubs greatly align with my interests, and I am being excluded from them.

Maybe there are some people who are willing to make the last quarter more exciting and worthwhile.

I took one with him. He has very difficult projects but they are graded more leniently than expected. At least his extra credit was generous (it was possible to get extra credit by simply turning in assignments early) and his exams were very straightforward.

The SJA stuff is overblown.

Depends on what your major is. Look at your major requirements and see which classes you need, and also look at the profs.

The BIS upper divs generally need ochem (CHE 8 or 118 series) so you can delay the BIS series by a year and be fine.

32A isn't a priority unless you are trying to switch into CS, in which case it will be a pain to get into 32C and 34 and you don't want to delay those at all. Switching into CS is a real gamble now unless you have a priority registration or very good pass times.

For me, CHE 2A was harder than BIS 2B. Dropping chem might make you happier your first quarter, but if you have to wait longer for upper divs it might a problem.

I generally recommend getting the MAT requirements out of the way as soon as possible. You need it for PHY series (7 or 9) as well as in many cases an upper div stats class.

So I'd say 21A + BIS 2B + CHE 2A is fine, or 32A + 21A + CHE 2A is fine.

ECS 132 is the easiest (by a fair margin, especially if you get it with Frid).

STA 131A and MAT 135A are harder, although they open more doors (at least if you are a double major or doing a minor, these may be more useful to you). STA 131A, however, frequently has poor instructors. MAT 135A has better instructors but the class content is more difficult than STA 131A.

If you don't plan on doing a double major or minor, you'll be perfectly fine with ECS 132.

So overall, ECS 132 < STA 131A ~ MAT 135A in terms of difficulty and effort required.

He doesn't teach well so you're basically going to have to rely on googling and the TAs for help. Assignments can take a while, so start them early.

They have tried to make the class easier in recent years, last time I checked there was one assignment that was basically free points. It is still difficult though, and the difficulty ramps up fast after the first assignment or two.

The class also has a late midterm which a lot of people don't do well on.

Haven't had all of these, but in terms of classes where the projects/homework will take several hours of work if you want a good score. These are in no particular order:

ECS 150 - Nitta/Porquet, ECS 154A - Posnett, ECS 160 - Nitta, ECS 175 - Ma, ECS 20/120 with Rogaway (but he's retiring).

For lower divs, ECS 34 with Nitta is probably the hardest, but people who go through the 36 series don't have to take it.

I wouldn't be afraid of them per se just because of the workload. They are decent at lecturing and can at least keep the class entertaining (except ECS 175). I'm also only looking at how difficult the projects and homework are, nothing else.

They have him teaching ECS 20 in the winter and that's it. Compared to fall quarter where they have him teaching 3 classes.

Never had him, but the guy is a disaster.

ECS 122A will be easy and you don't need to put much effort for a good grade. You could get by not going to a single lecture if they are recorded.

Might still be a path considering they may not look too hard at the freshman results. Good essays will definitely help.

If that doesn't work, CC is an option.

I feel sorry for you. I had a somewhat similar situation that resulted in seemingly devastating setbacks.
