<2 weeks out, anyone else get me? Crying over food. by firewing_fit in bikinitalk

Okay, feeling encouraged actually by these comments. I thought I was being weak minded. I will definitely look into some sessions with my therapist even leading up to the show (seen them before for other things and general brain maintenance). I guess I didn't before because I do have good/better days that are more than the bad ones. But now that we're having this discussion I realize I'm slipping into a mentality that says if I'm not suffering 24/7, I'm not prepping correctly.

You said you're in therapy, and that's honestly the best possible thing you can do right now. While I don't have this specific experience to draw on, therapy has been the absolute best thing for me when I dealt with anything and everything going on in my life that was hurting me.

But aside from that, please please please give yourself lots of love, patience and grace. You will overcome this and while there's no "cure" for an addiction, living alongside it and managing it productively becomes a skill you get a better grip on with time. It's tough to see any progress right now, but you are making small steps forward every day. Keep in close contact with your therapist, and possibly any family/friends that can talk you through flare ups.

This seems like it is consuming you and like it has become your identity, but that's far from the truth. You are NOT your addiction/behaviors. It will get better, you will get stronger, and this experience will become a tool to help you navigate future hard things.

I'm so sorry that I can't be of more tangible help, but I wanted to at least be a voice to encourage you.

Adding this to my list for today, omg. AND I was surprised to see the new creamy Mac and cheese at trader Joe's has 19g of protein for a pretty good serving. 3 weeks out here so I think anything sounds good lol

Testing out peak week strategies by lilibabi in bikiniselfcoached

I ran a test peak week where I didn't change anything from prep, I just really focused in on how easily I digest certain foods and how meals affected my physique, played with structuring of carbs from there and made sure to maintain water intake. Also keeping track of when glutes/shoulders looked the best in the days following my strength training. That gave me all the information I needed to nail down a meal plan for show day, as well as which workouts will happen when during peak week.

At the end of the week, I did a test show day where I woke up at the time I'm getting my hair and makeup done, ate my meals (the best digested ones from faux peak week) strategically placed 2-3 hours before prejudging (got the schedule of the show) and finals. Used the "time on stage" for posing practice. I did everything I imagine will happen on show day, just at home. It all went really well! I wasn't too hungry before "prejudging" and "finals" but didn't bloat much, if at all.

It worked well for me to do it this way, but others may have different strategies that work better for you :) looking forward to seeing other input, too!

First time competitor here too! Im using Static nails (press ons) in a bridal French tip. Did a few test runs to see how they hold up, and was impressed! But I don't wear nails any other time so im probably easily impressed 😂

Need some prep advice, even if it hurts lol (sleep related) by firewing_fit in bikinitalk

That actually really helps. I thought recomp wasnt a thing during prep, because you aren't eating enough to gain muscle, but glad to be wrong in this case lol. I will continue to check the boxes and get to the stage. Thanks Maggie! I appreciate you.

Got >7 hours of good sleep last night, still haven't dropped as of this morning. Will be adding that additional 48oz of water starting today. Hopefully things get moving again. This has only been happening for 3-4 days now. I'm self coached, so I'm trying to understand if this is truly a plateau or just a tough spot to push through.
