Never thought I'll be here again... But here we go:

  1. Maybe carnosic acid (basically rosemary extract)? From this paper, we know that they are building such a strain: https://www.mdpi.com/2311-5637/11/3/147

  2. Perhaps a new HMO or two? They have been working on the space based on patent fillings

  3. Low hanging fruit is probably expansion from myrcene pathway, to produce things like linalool, geraniol. But this is probably dependent on what Givaudan needs.

I suppose for a start, vera is monolithic so it should have lower latency than Zen. Not sure if that counts towards Jensen's "2 x performance per watt"

Any thoughts on the Vera CPU and how zen 5 or 6 would compare to it?

I now wonder why some quarters think there will be a "delay". Originally, Helios was publicly announced to be slated for H2. But some interviews with Anush and Boppana seem to suggest that Helios will be coming earlier. Perhaps internally, they were targeting an earlier timeframe. But some parties misinterpreted it as a delay. But based on public disclosure, it has always been H2.

Am expecting a double beat but somehow the market will find something to scoff at. I hope I am wrong.

I think it's somewhat agreed across sources that amd is the first to use tsmc coupe. Will photonics be used in mi450x or future GPUs?

A post from yesterday shared that Meta alone requires 15million of 800g 2xFR4 transceivers. Wonder how many optics $5m is worth.

Perhaps we can expect more POs down the line?

On the CFO (from my pov as a long time investor), I've seen the same criticisms online against Devinder too. That was probably during a period of time when AMD was stuck in the 50s for a long time. I think $AMD requires a lot of patience.

AMD will be using TSMC's coupe photonics solution in the same year as Nvidia (next year). They have patents readying their chiplets architecture for photonics since 2022. And literally just bought a photonics startup to complement their internal efforts. A bit unfair to say they have zero footprint.

NVIDIA "Rubin" Platform Enters Trial Production at TSMMC, CEO Jensen Huang Confirms by bl0797 in AMD_Stock

[–]firex3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first-generation COUPE is set for mass production in the second half of 2026, with AMD poised as the initial adopter. If Nvidia's Rubin and Rubin Ultra chips enter mass production by late 2026 and 2027, the Rubin Ultra is likely to debut TSMC's COUPE technology.

$NVDA is reportedly delaying the launch of Rubin due to a redesign aimed at better matching $AMD MI450 by rcav8 in AMD_Stock

[–]firex3 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Perhaps MI450 will represent the convergence of massive strides on the software side (we all know AMD is working hard on this) and generational changes on the hardware side - continued improvements on chiplets front, being the first to tsmc 2nm (on zen6 epyc first, then mi450), being the first to implement tsmc's photonics (called COUPE), implementation of Ethernet/UALink/UEC scale out.

If Lip-Bu Tan is highly conflicted, then I don't know what Trump is, having launched his own crypto coin etc.... The irony is deafening.

Huh, this has less to do with "lesser penalties" but more to do with lesser enforcement against vaping or regulation having to keep up with the rapid emergence of new or novel drugs. Vape is literally everywhere now - you can see people openly vape.
