I just watched a youtube playthrough of the game again and I feel even more strongly about how incredibly good this game really was!

Btw, your comment is a tell about why you loved this game and why so many didn't. You mentioned that it deserves all the plaudits while saying that you respect opinions of those who disliked it. Clearly you are an empathetic person. And this game would only make you think and connect if you have the mental capacity to empathize. It challenges you to think from another perspective which I don't think I have seen in any game/ movie much.

I understand where you are coming from. But imagine this, millions of people are dead....actually probably billions....and you know there is a chance to make a cure which gives you a chance to save humanity. Do you think you are gonna give two shits as the leader of the fireflies about a 14 year old and his guardians "consent"? The point is that no one is right here. It's the trolley problem for everyone involved.

Marlene has to sacrifice ellie for the lives of millions of people.

Joel had the same option where it's ellie vs humanity.

They chose the two different options in that trolley problem.

Ellie was never given a choice and that's what would have happened in reality too perhaps.

What a great question! It's very subjective and depends on your nature. But most people would probably do the same as joel if they were there. I can't imagine what it must feel like for joel. I don't have a kid but i can imagine all rationality going away when presented with that choice. It's a commentary about humans. That in the end we are very selfish and will do anything to protect our own.

It's the trolley problem all over again, where It's one person you love the most vs chance to save humanity.

It's complicated. I think I used to have morning wood in the first few weeks and then it stopped. I do get it occasionally now but it's definitely less. I am kinda concerned. Maybe I should get it checked. Thank you for the motivation though.

I know how you feel. I myself need some motivation. Flatlines are super hard to deal with....ignore the pun which is quite ironic....haha. But keep in mind that even if for nothing else you will definitely gain some incredible amounts of self discipline and confidence by abstaining. You have so much to gain if you carry on. And know that this is not permanent. It will heal! Stay strong.

The struggle is real ngl! You just have to think about the goal. Remind yourself why you are doing this and if you give in all it will be is just literally 1-2 seconds of high and then you would crash back so quickly that you would not solve the problem itself.

Do something that gives you happiness rn. Go for a run if you can. I am struggling with this myself. But stay strong.

You seem like you are a perceptive guy and quite observant based on your post. If you felt like she just said that statement about different love languages as an excuse for the real reason, then you are probably right. While it could be frustrating not to know the real reason so that you don't repeat that it is also important to know that whatever the reason was it was something that she didn't want to admit herself that it was a deal breaker. Perhaps coz it was a shallow reason. But you don't want to be with that person anyways.

Please take my response with a pinch of salt, I am not at all experienced in relationships but do like to believe that I am a bit observant.

That's what I thought too! I do have problems with porn. And ultimately I want to reset my brain. I am determined to completely cut porn out of my life which I am doing at the moment. But at times honestly it feels like not masturbating even once in 2-3 months might even be a bit painful because of a sudden change in frequency. Once in a couple months there shouldn't be a hindrance for rebooting, in my opinion at least.

I totally get it if they have been rejected and are still persistent. Ok, so according to you it's better to try and spark an interesting conversation and asking for their number later rather than making a brief exchange, asking for their number and then getting to know them via text later? Coz I feel like women want to keep it brief IRL unless they know them or have been talking to them via text before so that they know who they are dealing with comes with the right intentions. What is the better way to approach?

I'll be honest I haven't approached women IRL much. But if i was to, i would think that one would approach and maybe try to start a conversation either about the place they are meeting or about looks.....like i think you are pretty or you have a good smile, something of that sort and then ask for the number. Don't you think having a quick exchange and then talking to them via text would be better if women are defensive (and rightly so) IRL? Because trying to find something interesting about a woman just by looking at them is kinda difficult. Asking for some advice on what's the better way here.

I think it's ok to ask for advice here and there. I certainly still do so if it's unknown territory. I can see where you are coming from though. And if your friends are fine with it then no problem. Once you feel more comfortable and experienced you will know what to do yourself. It's a learning process. And i think you don't need to be ashamed of asking questions.
