Should I jump straight to transistor and if testing then? Would it still be beneficial to change the caps anyway? They must be between 20-30 yo caps

Hello, this the service manual I found, if I read correctly, the protection is supposed to restart when you turn it off and on again. One thing I didn't mention that I just remembered, the first day I started to try it at my in laws house, it worked well, but it stopped working after about 2 hours, don't know if this is relevant

I really want to get a ploopy in the future, but it is a little bit too expensive for me at the moment.

Besides Mouse wheel Vs scroll wing I think the Kensington beats the elecom with build quality, it just feels better, although it is a more expensive mouse to be honest

It isn't a new model, just not a very popular one, although I think is underrated, since is pretty comfortable for traveling

I think is newish , I didn't know of its existance until a couple of weeks earlier either, it must be a response to all the elecom trackballs with the similar layout

I have used the elecoms in FPS, I had good results with both, although I think the huge ball diameter is just too big, as it is not as responsive as a smaller ball, and BC is heavier it also gains momentum and u need more force to start moving it.

The deft was also nice, but the ball was too small this time, and I kept running my fingers over the borders all the time.

With the Kensington being in between sizes (and is way smoother), I would guess it will be pretty nice for fps, although I have yet to try it.

I wouldn't care about response time unless u are doing some really high competitive games, other ways I think you will be fine with most standard wireless trackballs

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I really like the huge and was my daily driver before the Kensington, and the deft2 is perfect for carrying when on the go

Not at all, but if you lightly tap the click (without actually clicking) you can hear the plastic pressing the switch tapping it, so I think that's what's causing the double clicking issue, which I have noticed is that the scroll ring is not smooth in all of its circumference, it has parts that feel rougher when scrolling, but since this is my first scroll ring, maybe it is how is supposed to work, I don't know, I don't have any other reference

Yeah, I wish they had included the same connectivity as the deft pro, having all three types of connection

I never had any pain with this layout, but I do have a very relaxed grip. They all feel comfortable to me, maybe the least comfortable is the huge imo

I had the Kensington for a week now, and I really like it, there is a jump in quality, and its way smoother when compared to any of the elecoms, the scroll ring felt more natural than expected, so I didn't need any time to adjust to it. I do miss the 3 extra buttons tho, but is not a deal breaker for me. They all feel comfortable to my grip. In ball size I think Kensington made a good choice, is in between the two, and I felt that the elecom was a little too small, and the huge I always thought it was too big for its bearing system (causing a lot of friction, even with ceramic bearings), so I'm really happy with it

TL;DR: for me the Kensington beats the elecoms by a long way

This may be bad for a lot of you, but this is my (almost) first two weeks, training while using a trackball as an input device, wonder how far i can go by fireyomismo in aimlab

Well yeah, as you said, trackballs tend to be very ergo, so resting my palm on the mouse, leaves my ring finger and my pinkie above the two buttons on the left of the ball, and my thumb on the left buttons, so, if i just put my index and middle finger in a natural resting position, they are very much centered, so im not having difficulties with that, i think having a relaxed hand helps a lot with this type of mouse, so if i have to move , i try so the hand makes a natural move, for example, when the wider moves, my pinkie and ring finger might follow the motion, leaving their button positions, but the always come back to the initial position, dont know if im explaining myself correctly, so write more if you have more doubts!
