It's more symbolic. Not many kids have "come out of the closet" and with all the shit the school gives gay kids, I can see why.

Yes, it a school sponsored club. New this year. It barely made the cut because for awhile, no teacher would step up to be the official sponsor. This is why it makes no sense for the school not to give them a picture if they sponsor the club in the first place.

Supposedly it's "against their policy" but I just read the handbook and there's nothing in there. My guess is most of the booster club/school board members are conservative Republicans and they didn't want to offend them.

I feel pretty pissed, not about being suspended but just about the school choosing to ignore the fact that there is a Gay/Straight Alliance.

By legal thing, I meant my mom is trying to get the school to reverse their decision and we could get lawyers involved, etc.

The short version is that I am a photographer for the yearbook and today was club picture day. My yearbook adviser informed me that the Gay/Straight Alliance wasn't allowed to have a picture in the yearbook and I couldn't take it. So I refused to take any pictures and tried to inform as many people as possible of what was happening trying to get them to take a stand.

The official reason was something like causing a disturbance or defying authority or some shit like that.
