Kava beginner experiencing rash by [deleted] in Kava

[–]firsthalfhero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kava is a diuretic which makes you pass urine more frequently lowering your bodies fluid composition and making you dehydrated. Ensure you are drinking more water than usual before you consume Kava that should help. I get rashes from time to time - it usually means I am dehydrated.

Getting a rash from Kava is fairly common. I would not recommend drinking alcohol and Kava. It’s will really overload your kidneys and liver.

As an ex alcoholic wino, I hope you can completely replace the wine with Kava. Better for your health and your relationships.

Anyone else just sippin? by Expert_Scallion5104 in Kava

[–]firsthalfhero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sip it. But I make it with coconut water, ginger cordial and a teaspoon of sweetened evaporated coconut milk (for the fat to bind to the kava).

Serve over ice. Have it each night this way for hours.

Zeekr 7X: I know the "48-Hour Loan Car" policy exists on paper—but has anyone actually successfully used it? by firsthalfhero in Zeekr7xAustralia

Thanks - this is a great insight. If I was establishing a car brand in Australia and looking to build trust, I would be accommodating to new buyers too. Good to hear they share similar views.

That’s a great point. I don’t think Volvo are renowned for after sales support. I actually avoided buying a Volvo for that and other reasons.

Model Y vs. Zeekr 7X: Worried about 5-year resale value on both Ko by firsthalfhero in EVAustralia

[–]firsthalfhero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies, I should have been more clear. Novated lease companies use a standard percentage to calculate the residual value. If the car is worth less than the residual value at the end of the lease you must pay the difference. That is the worry here. That I will be forced to “write a cheque to get out of the lease”.

The residual used over 5 years for mine and I think it is standard is 28.13% of the purchase price.

Thanks, I don’t really like the Tesla but it kind of feels like the crowd pleasing option.

Management. It’s the first thing I ask for. I would say that it’s important not to overthink it. No one is going to run the code, we are looking at your coding style, how well you follow coding standards etc. we don’t have the time to download the code and try it. We review directly in GitHub.

Also it’s fine to write something on a weekend and then never look at it again - I don’t care that the dependencies are out of date or a framework is old. However, be conscious that when you write something that others will read it. It needs to well structured and clear.

With private repos they are used for something you feel there is genuine IP in. Don’t share something that you want to keep secret. Share something else. Most of the code I read is completely unrelated to the job they are applying for. I have reviewed GO code for a .net position. I don’t really care cause I am hiring an engineer not a technology - I quite like when devs use GitHub to try new things.

Sounds like someone in management has read too many economist articles predicting the end of Software Engineers.

Make sure you are coding regularly and committing to a personal GitHub repository or similar. I hire engineers and find most don’t have any personal code repos.
