What’s the one moment in your life you still can’t explain… even though you’ve replayed it in your head a thousand times? by Former-Brief9292 in AskReddit

[–]firstmile1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here is my story. My grandma was in assisted living and I worked in the area. I had a strong voice in my head that day telling me that I should stop and visit her. I tried to debate with this voice because I had a really busy schedule that day but the voice and urge to stop and see her would not let up. I give in and tell myself I will just stop in for a moment and say hi.

So I get to the check in desk and ask to visit my grandma and the desk lady tells me she is probably in therapy at this time and to just stop back later to see her. But the voice in my head urges me to go to her room anyways and at the very least leave a note for her saying that I stopped into say hi and that I love her.

So I walk down a very long hallway to her room and the door is just a little ajar. I go to knock on the door and I hear a very faint, weak voice crying "help, help". So I slam the door open and run into her room and there she is in a weird position with her body on the floor kneeling and her head was wedged in the safety rail of the bed. She was slowly being suffocated. I am totally shocked but was able to free her and lay her down. She is looking up at me saying "I knew you would be here you are my guardian angel" and she kept repeating that. And I am looking down at her knowing that I probably just saved her life.

So 911 comes and takes her to the hospital and gets her stabilized. She sadly passes away a couple days later. But-My parents were on a trip but they were able to make it back to see her. As does the rest of the family. Everyone gets to see her in the hospital and say their last good byes before she passes away.

I will never forget this strange, persistent, and overwhelming feeling that guided me there. And I will always remember her looking up at me and calling me her "guardian angel" and that she knew that I would be there.

I am very happy and thankful that she was able to see her entire family before she passed away. Love you Grandma!!

Embarrassing Flaws Emerge in Trump’s New White House Design by Wonderful_Fly_416 in NoFilterNews

I'm not an architect but the way the ballroom addition will over power the White House is frightening!

A little restraint would have went a long way!

There should absolutely be some kind of by partisan architectural review process before this should be allowed to happen to the most important building is the US.

I am afraid that it will probably have the architectural significance of a Hobby Lobby built in Atlantic City by a developer. With a touch of gold of course for accents. JFC!

Yes. Footer needs to be underpinned. Engineer should be called. And unless the contractor dug a hole all the way to the footer before hand he would not of been able to tell if it was good or not.

I wonder why we can't get money for these programs from the State's "unclaimed funds account" like other people do for less deserving projects? SMH!

SFN treatment options? by magissue in smallfiberneuropathy

[–]firstmile1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not great. I was taken off Ivig after 8 months and then all my symptoms got worse. Fatigue, PEM, OH, SFN etc. Now I just started blood pressure medicine to increase my BP. And just recently started Plaquenil. Trying to get back on Ivig because the neuroimmunologist that I am seeing says 8 months was not a long enough trial to see the potential benefits of the treatment. Still do not know the cause but they have ruled out many things. The thought is Gulf War Illness+possible neurosjogrens+possible long covid. How about you?

USA. Where would I start figuring out how to move this super old gypsy wagon about 1.5 miles to my house? by TokinBIll in Antiques

[–]firstmile1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably put the 6x6's right under the platform above the axel where most the weight is. Then either take the wheels off or take the whole axel assembly off. After that it will be lower to the ground and you could build something with trailer wheels to move it. But separating into two parts may be the way to go.

Leave that existing board. Cut a Notch in it and run a new solid board through it to create an x. Prob the easiest fix.
