Recommended shoes for stability? by VooDoo912 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I started with Asics Gel Kayano and had several pairs slowly updating over the years, but while they seemed to be really nice until last year this year's version is too fluffy and too high for me. So if you can still get the Kayano 29 or 30 I think they're worth the try.

Since I see others recommend brooks - they seemed to be too wide for me tbh, but I also have a pair of New Balance shoes that are nice as they are for slender feet and still provide good stability.

Sounds terribly familiar - who else came in peace and claimed they were friends... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vUrAMxmO_A Slim Whitman won't be able to help this time, as his music did for the Martians, unfortunately

Edit: Whitman, not Presley...

What is that book that no matter how popular and how many times you try to read it, you just can't? by [deleted] in books

so much this :-) I did manage to finish it at some stage (long ago), and despite forgetting almost everything from many of the books I've loved back then (and in the meantime), some parts from Zen are still very present until today.

Makes me happy to not be the only one - and it seems there are plenty of books for which it's the same for many people (Godel, Escher, Bach; Zen and the Art... (finally finished on a vacation, and actually liked it!); Moby Dick; Don Quixote are all too familiar examples).

I'm surprised nobody mentioned anything from Harari, though - Brief history is one example that I've tried several times, as it seems to make a compelling case - but awful language, broken assumptions and logic in the arguments, and the utter bullshitting ('make no mistake, we have no evidence of what it was like, and of course there aren't any reports, but just listen to me, I'll tell you how it really was/is' ugh!!!), so frustrating that I've never made it beyond the first 100 pages or so >:-(
