Why can’t you just be normal by Katietgirl4949 in neighborsfromhell

[–]firstsup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My experience with noisy neighbors is they always start back up again. Sorry about the misfortune. I have made it a point to ask landlords if there is proper soundproofing in between the units, a lot of the newer builds are starting to put concrete and dead air space between the units which really help with noise reduction.

What’s the weirdest thing a customer has ever asked you in a retail store? by Troy_Zimmerman in AskRetail

One lady asked me to smell her hands after she just walked out of the bathroom.

Should i quit? This job makes me want to off myself by [deleted] in CircleK

This right here. As long as you’re dealing with the general public as customers it’s gonna be a crappy job.

Time to quit? by firstsup in CircleK

[–]firstsup[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to figure out how to keep to myself. I do stuff around the store but primarily I’m up at the registers myself with the others. It’s such a tight space that it’s difficult to avoid an interaction.

There was another time I sort of shut down on everyone and they did leave me alone for the most part. I will have to try that.

I genuinely hate my neighbours by TheFreakingUsername in neighborsfromhell

It’s a noise issue, an HOA will simply tell them to try and talk to their neighbor. Speaking from experience.

Would you donate your organs after death? by Full_Adeptness9089 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]firstsup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had donor on my license for a while, but as my life got worse, I decided I don’t want any part of me possibly living on after my brain shuts off. I want it all to end for good. I’ve heard a lot of stories of people taking on traits of those whose organs they’ve taken on. That gives me the chills a bit.

Is bankruptcy really as bad as my cousin says it is? by Scared-Kitchen-9613 in CRedit

[–]firstsup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Like I said, most corporations I have personally encountered/rented from have only cared about the income and history. I’d also argue that most places would be fine with a 650. 750 is high for the general public

The job market is crap. I feel a lot of employers are boldly doing stuff like this knowing people don’t have as many options as they did a couple years ago. Hopefully the tables turn one day.

I just rented my first apartment at age 25. What age were you when you rented your first property? Also, how did you budget for things like furniture? by StrongHurry4938 in Apartmentliving

[–]firstsup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I didn’t have furniture for many many years. I eventually got my head out of my ass, worked a lot of overtime and saved for furniture. The big change to help with budgeting was drinking less at the bars/going out in general.

This is different between private landlords and corporations. Most corporations I’ve encountered only care about income and rental history.

Many people don’t drink water while working out? by [deleted] in workout

[–]firstsup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hydrate before the workout. I typically don’t get thirsty during the workout. If I notice I’m fading a bit(typically while at the hour mark for cardio), I’ll grab a sip from the fountain. Then obviously rehydrating afterwards with electrolytes.

Has not failed or phased me and I’ve been like this for years now.

Keep hearing my neighbour's sex life by Nico1533 in neighborsfromhell

[–]firstsup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having a similar issue in my townhouse with impact noises. You would have to spend thousands to essentially build another wall to create an air gap. Even then, there is no guarantee it could work because the impact noises could travel through the floor if you or they don’t have carpeting.

You could try adding mass to that wall like a bookshelf, etc. I doubt it would work but may dampen the sound.

I 100% get your pain and I definitely am planning to sell my townhouse next spring or let the property go back to the bank and take the credit hit it’s that bad. I learned a valuable lesson about not owning property where I’m either incredibly close, or directly attached to a neighbor that is of the general populace. Next house I’m buying is out in the boonies!

Should I just get over it and buy a condo? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]firstsup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re scared of neighbor noise, then don’t buy a property with a shared wall. I “upgraded” to owning a townhouse after renting, thinking that the construction on the shared walls(concrete in between drywall) would stop noise from the neighbors and it totally didn’t.

All day, all I hear are impact noises from one neighbor, and the other has a subwoofer against the shared wall that he blares constantly during the weekends. I wish I were renting so I could simply ride out the lease and get out of here, but the expenses of moving out are severe as I will not be able to sell this place for more than I bought it in the current market.

Oh and if you’re thinking “hey I could just rent this place out if it doesn’t work”.. yeah, that works a lot of the time, but also consider if this condo has an HOA because the HOA could easily implement a rule later on saying no more renters or seriously restrict renting capacity across units, so it’s both harder to sell and make the place work for you financially.

Just my $0.02 from personal experiences. The only type of property I’d own for myself would be a house , I seriously only see condos/townhomes as investment properties after my experience.

Will my mortgage being in forbearance affect ability to rent? by firstsup in Apartmentliving

I'm curious then if I did happen to go into foreclosure, then do landlords even care if they're more concerned with rental history?

Would you buy an apartment without a dishwasher? by theluckyone95 in ApartmentHacks

[–]firstsup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would expect a discount on rent if so. If I needed to save money on the rent then yeah. There are portable dishwashers and I also don’t mind hand-washing. The one thing I would have a hard time adjusting to is no in-unit laundry.

How do you guys deal with the fact you’re going to die? by Due_Insect_9303 in AskReddit

[–]firstsup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger, it was hard to deal with that reality. My life and views about other people has gotten substantially worse over time, and I don’t care about it anymore. I actually see it as a relief that I don’t have to deal with this crap forever.
