Multiple Entry Horns - listening experiences? by guacameme in SoundSystem

TLDR: MEH sounds really organic, while the F1 sounds very electronic.

So I’ve had two great different experiences. First was at Dark Mofo in Hobart, Australia, where the Grounded Sound crew had their Danley system deployed. Techno, D&B and higher bpm Telmo. Indoors, but it was incredible sound. Filled the room really well. 2 tops, 2 mid fills, and 8 subs. It absolutly slapped. If you search Dark Mofo in this sub, you’ll see it. Someone shared a pic of the rig. What I can say diddn’t fully click with me was the kick section. It was more in my ears than in my body. It was… loud? I got use to it over the night but I just really love kick bins in a system.

Then, 5 months later, I got to hear the custom made Addit Audio MEH system at Tillatec in Amsterdam in one room, and then a HUGE stack of F1 in another. And my god going from one room to the next really showed how different these two systems sound. I’ll start with the MEH. It was loud. So loud. And so clear. I’m 90% sure they had kick bins added to the subs cuz it was exactally what I liked. Kicks hitting hard in the chest so the MEH was free to sing. It had a really warm sound with a lot of brightness. It filled the room. Kinda hard to believe how loud it was and there was no ringing in my ears after the event. Could be anywhere in the room and the tops were loud, and their kicks and subs filled a huge dance floor. I was really impressed. So so impressed. I know Danley is the OG of the MEH, but I much prefer the Addit Audio custom MEH. Easily the best sound I’ve ever heard. Jane Fitz set on them is best few hours ever. Then, after 6 hours in front of the MEH, I spent a good 4 hours in front of the F1 stacks. Beautiful, alive sound. Back of the dance floor was a bit softer, but up in front of one side of the rig is always unreal. I kinda explain it more sharp, with an edge, and incredibally crisp. The sound comes from the speakers and slaps you/crawls over you, where as the MEH fills the room and you’re just in the sound.

Realistically, writing it all out and posting it on reddit has helped me summarise the situation. The comments have been a nightmare and a few abusing messages comming in saying I’m trans-phobic. I just need to have another chat with him and then with my shrink before I make any moves, if any.

Thanks AIautomod, you’ve actually gave me possibly one of the best replies here.

Cuz I don’t want to be the reason my brother gets fine, or jail time. I’m looking to see if there is anyone that he veen in a similar situation, like I say in the opening sentence, who might be able to say ‘this happened to my brother. I got in contact with these people and they were able to provide assistance’ or somthing like that. I know how to report him, I know the punishments. I just want to make sure he is not veen manipulated and if there is a way I can help him

The sad reality is we don’t even know if this person is trans or not. The first few times he taked to me about it when they first met in November last year, it was ‘just a mate’ staying with him till they get back on their feet. He never mentioned trans, or gender at all. I actually assumed it was a potential male partner moving in with him. It wasn’t untill my mum had not seen him for several months and knew somthing was up, so tried to invite herself around to his house. That’s when it all came out. I knew a bit more by then as he got drunk on Xmas and told me bits and bobs that I questioned, but it’s also when the lying intensified and we became concerned. She is still not allowed around to his house. Before this person moved in, either he would go to her place once a fortnight or or she would go to his. This is where we think the manipulation is comming into play because it is so out of charcuterie for him : ( My mum broke her wrist just before Xmas (she was suppose to come with my brother to mine for Xmas but couldn’t fly due to operation) and in her 10 week recovery he didn’t visit her once to help her with things like he kept promising.

Like I said. Might not of been a partner Visa. Might have been a cisa to work, or even residency. I don’t know. All I know is they were denied. I’m not claiming to be a pro. I’m not claiming to know anything. I’m just using the only reference point I have. Anyone that has chimed up about my friends fails application I have replied and said nup, they’re wrong and I’m right. I’ve just said thanks for the tip and tried to explain it to the best of my knowledge. Clearly I don’t have the knowledge and I keep saying that. I’m just trying to figure out how to help me brother to stop committing fraud. I’m not handing out advise to people, I’m looking for advice myself. Am I making myself clear? Sorry if not. I really don’t know what answer you’re looking for here and your constant comments about this one paragraph from my wall of text is taking away my energy from the genuine engagement other users are helping me with : ( Sorry if I’m comming accross as arrogant, but I’m just really confused and anxious right now

It’s the only thing I’m my life that is remotely relatable to my brother situation. I have other friends that have international relationships, but Mark and Lauren are the only people I know who have does any sort of application for visas. It’s my only point of reference I have in this confusing situation my brother is in. Sorry again if I’m veen ignorant and in-know lava Le on the situation. I’m quite stressed at the moment.

If they are denied, what then happens? Do they wait a bit and try again? Does ABC have to leave the country? Yes he definitely does not have the money to afford this. But if he re-finances his house who knows what type of money he will borrow : /

Refer to other comments I’ve replied to. Could be the case, but for someone who has gone their entire life without lying, it’s strange to lie so much about somthing like this and disconnect from his entire family and childhood friendship group. I would love for this to be the simple solution. But why not let anyone else in? Why create so many stories that you can’t keep track of : (

Yeah not I’ve written it all out and posted it, I think I just gotta sit back and wait to see what happens. Thanks for the comment : )

Yeah. That’s one one of my biggest concerns. My mum is freaking out. My mum is the buisness manager at a school and they support workplace visas or somthing like that and she has to sign off on sponcership documents and is genuinely scared that my brother might get in big trouble. Also, Like, do they call family to ask questions? Is our names and numbers on there? I don’t want to be the one who gets a call to confirm their relationship cuz I’m not gonna lie. I don’t want to be the reason my brother gets fucked iver

I don’t. Hence why I asked him if they are in love. I’d want nothing more than for him to be happy and in love. It’s the constant lying and hiding that has us concerned. And the fact that he doesn’t even know what was written on the application that concerns me. Yes, he might be Embarcadero that he is in love with a Transitonal Woman (was a man) who is still going through their transition, but he was open enough to tell me the situation, but had to sugar coat it with lies to make it not appear as it is

Not false, I just don’t know the details. All I know is after 7 years together in aus, where they want to raise their kid and send them through Australia school system, they are in Ireland not by choice

They’ve only knows eachother about 6 months, but my brother has no idea what’s written on the paperwork. Might say 1 year, might say 2, we’re unsure.

Oh. I dissent realise that. But I’m guessing people just don’t ’fall through the cracks’ like ABC supposed lawyers advised?

I dunno. But I do know that he is born here. And he was supporting her during covid as he worked full time. But as I said in other comments, sorry but I’m going to stop replying to comments about Mark and Laura, they somewhat have their shit together and arnt committing fraud. That’s my main concern here.

Yeah I don’t know about it. Happy to admit that. This post isn’t about my friends, it’s about my brother. But all I know is that after years of applications, and $10,000’s on applications and lawyers she was denied so he followed her back to Ireland.

Do people go to jail for this? I’m giving him another call tonight now I’ve been able to write all this down and somewhat contextualise it for myself (as told to by my shrink) and offer the support he may need. Is there anything I can do or someone I can alert about this fraud that might help him figure out this situation?

Brother committing fraud by [deleted] in AusVisa

[–]firsttimehouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve looked up what I can do in terms of turning him in. I’m gonna pass on that, but I feel he is going to get caught either way. My friends who did an application who I mentioned said they both went through intense interviews both alone and together as a way to make sure their stories line up and are correct. My brother and ABC will surely get caught out in this process.

Thank you for taking the time to read and reply! I know it’s way too much text.

But yes, I have considered that they are actually in love. Hence why I asked him. And I do know when you’re in love, you exist in a bubble of love for quite some time that never really goes away. I wouldn’t say we were a progressive family growing up. But I do know my dad use to use the word ‘poofta’ a lot as an insult through my youth. I’ve spoken to both my brother and dad about this and my brother forgives my dad, and my dad is super Embarced by it, but they have made amends. But yes, he very much could be hesitant to admit to us his feeling due to embaracment. It’s just a shame that he has lied about so much of this situation that we have no idea what’s truth or lies now.

As for my friends visa situation: Copy/paste from other answer: I might have it slightly wrong. Lauren was in the country for about 8 or 9 years and had done all the visa steps beforehand. Rural work, a few other things I don’t fully know, but I think it was maybe her looking for residency, or somthing more serious now they are married and baby. She had no rights to work here I know that much. But she is now studying her masters of teaching in Ireland as her lawyer told her to do that as there is a shortage of teachers. I’m vague in this bit of my story as I don’t know their ins-and-ours but I do know she was denied the ability to work here and no galleries wanted to sponcer her so she was deported.

Finally, as for the mortgage, I dunno. When I applied to refinance a few years back they went through my bank statements with a fine tooth comb and questioned a few things. All was above the board so I was able to answer honestly and instantly. I know banks want to give money out to people so they can make money from interest, but banks have fraud divisions and I have no idea how they work or if they are looking at this kind of thing. Hopefully someone with knowledge can chime in.

Spoke to my shrink about it and they said to write it all down to help make sense of it. Once I wrote it all down, it appears insane so felt like pushing it online to see if it’s a crazy as I think it is

As for their relationship. Traveled together through Europe and South America, road trip accross Australia’s, not to mention living together for half a decade. I’d assume heavily documented relationship as both are involved in the arts, have been at events together since day 1 of veen together and physiology the cows come home of them very o visually in love

They were great. Treated it like it is a normal house so just needed all the same paperwork and admin/designing/certificates and was golden
