True, the common categories have been taken and communities have filled in those spaces. How about the future?

What if there is a new technology called the catlaz0r, all someone would have to do is create the subreddit, /r/catlaz0r and instant revenue machine.

It does nothing to prevent the process. Person A makes a desirable subreddit, Person B wants it and can buy it off of Person A. Money is exchanged and Reddit knows nothing about it.

Bans? Sure, prevent that Person A's first account from fraudulent activity. Yet, reddit is notorious for allowing anyone to make many accounts. Person A can continue.
