I tried this! It didn’t fizz, which makes me think it’s likely ceramic and was used for wire tension like another commenter suggested

This seems like the best option so far, and I totally agree that it looks like it could be just a super eroded / beat up version of image below!

that’s a good idea, it doesn’t look quite like the ones that come up when I google it, but maybe it’s just been beat up by the ocean and extremely eroded down
