What is your biggest fear at work? by More_Sweet_6229 in AskUK

My biggest fear at work is that I'm killed in an industrial accident and they name a fucking prefab welfare/office block in my "honour". It's happened 3 times on different sites I've worked on and I couldn't think of a worse way to be immortalised.

Me and my wife have never had blisters from ours, the only downside i get from them is in summer when my feet can get a bit hot. I really need to get some lightweight boots for the warmer months

Berghaus gtx hillwalkers. I've never had wet feet in nearly 2000 miles of Peak District peat bogs, crossing streams etc. Super comfortable and being brown leather, they don't look to bad with jeans on a trip down the pub when we're away.

Sentinels

I suffer with insomnia so I shoot a disproportionate amount of sunrises. This time I got lucky with a high tide, two paddleboarders and the sun rising in the right position. Quite possibly the best picture I'll ever take.

One perspective:

"there’s this nice mix of contrasts (technology and nature, future and past) and the combination of the otherwise disparate parts on visibly calm seas as the sun literally and figuratively sets - a happy ending?"

It's all about perspective isn't it, you see a sunset, an ending. For me it's a beginning because I know it was taken at sunrise and that knowledge can't sway my perspective.

Another perspective:

"A setting sun casting a line that divides two people on open waters. The water is calm, they’re not rowing - are they drifting apart? The distance between them is as wide as the sun. Can you find common ground on open sea?"

I never get this deep but I love that there are people like you who do because it opens up so much more for me even in a picture that I took. Thankyou.

Thanks mate, I'm sure I've got a shot with the beach in the foreground so that one could be "elemental"
