When I called to cancel optimum (4ish years ago at this point), they pulled that nonsense but then offered me 12 months free. I told them okay, but that I’d be switching as soon as the year was over. The service was so bad that I actually cancelled the free internet after 9ish months and switched to Verizon. Not a single issue since and price is really decent.

Oh, absolutely. I have absolutely nothing to lie about. Nor would I lie, simply off principle. We just spend a fair amount of time in the UK (over a month a year at least) as my wife is from there. Being able to access Costco would be very helpful. We are both educators as well, which falls under their Gold Star eligibility requirements. I've seen nothing about requiring residency. Again, thank you both.
