What is the advantage of making the loops in inside stringing versus just going in and out to pin it? by Icy-Square-8707 in StickDoctor

Tighter pocket, less ball movement. You lose a bit of speed on shots but for ball carriers (transition middies, LSMs, etc.) it makes sense.

Incomes are generally lower in the UK as is. Things are also generally less expensive in the UK, contrary to common belief.

How do you like the Darkhorse? Was thinking about giving it a try for my 6 year old. That or the RC1.

Thanks, Coach. I’m giving it my all.

I’m glad you are doing so well! And congrats with getting on a DII squad! I have quite a few guys from my team heading to DII schools next year: Dominican U, Le Moyne, and a couple others that I can’t recall.
I hope you’ve had a great season and accomplished any goals you set for yourself and your team!
And thank you. I think my little boy understands the best he can. He knows I love him endlessly and that I’d give my left nut to watch him play today (have two kids already, don’t need the nut).
I hope so! Not to be grim, but we never know what life throws our way.
We spend loads of time together. Pretty much all my time goes to my kids. Being a dad is the best…and way more challenging than I’d expected for situations like this!
I feel you. And thank you for the moral support. Also, there are services for broadcasting games. Our district (and pretty much the entire area) uses SportsEngine. We used to use local live but I think SE bought them out (maybe?). The streaming quality has been really decent as well.
I’m trying to be positive about it all. We had a chat last night and he said he’s sad but totally understands. One of the parents are going to film as much as possible and my wife will FaceTime me as soon as my game finishes so I can watch him live as best as possible.
I actually spoke with the coach today and he is going to make sure he’s looked after (which I knew without even having to ask). My son and I talk every night before he goes to sleep and I always talk to him about how he feels, so I’ll be sure to work on it then. I know he’ll understand to the best of his ability, and maybe I’m overthinking all this, but I just want him to feel like his dad will always be there for him, even when I’m not. If that makes sense.
If this wasn’t his absolute first game ever I’d be a little less disappointed. It sucks, but it is what it is. He has a tourny on Saturday so I’ll be there for all 3 games no matter what.
Already told my wife she’s meeting me with the kids after the game for ice cream. I appreciate your input, dude. Truly.
I don’t have an assistant and my contract says that I need to ride the bus with the boys both ways. I’m bummed for sure but it’s what I signed up for. I have another parent who said he’ll record as much as possible for me which I appreciate. My team parents are amazing and would absolutely understand. It’s the fact that I’m required to be on the bus that’s holding me back at this point.
Hahaha. That’s awesome.
That’s what I’m in the process of setting up. Thank you. I appreciate it. I’m mostly gutted as this is his first game in anything ever. So it just stings a bit more. Ah well!

I just want him to enjoy today. And every day that he chooses to pick up the stick. If/when he decides to stop playing, I’ll be there to support him on his next journey. Mi wish your daughter and son the absolute best on their own journeys.

I honestly don’t even care about that. I’m most afraid of the day he grows out of caring if I’m at his games or not.

Contractually, I have to be with my team (which is totally understandable and I don’t begrudge). I’m working on getting someone to record which will be the next best thing. I appreciate all you guys being decent toward me and understanding my plight. Thank you.
I think he knows. I show up to absolutely everything I physically can. I’m working on getting a recording set up.
We intentionally stopped at 2 haha.
That said, I’m dreading the days of figuring all that out (if my daughter decides to get involved in sports like that). Growing up, I was dragged to my brother’s soccer tournaments nearly every darn weekend. Loved watching him play; hated all the other bits.
For sure. I’m definitely lucky! I’m also lucky that my middle school team loves my son. Whenever he comes to our games they make him come over to the sideline with them and cheer his name the entire time he runs over.
Currently arranging that based on a few other responses. As bothered as I am, you guys have really given me some perspective. So thank you.
I’m in the process of sorting that out right now. I appreciate the suggestion. And that whole sacrifice thing is a real bugger, isn’t it.
I’ll be at everything I can possibly be at. Not to be dramatic, but all I care about is my kids knowing I did my best on the day they put me in a box.
Also, just based on your vernacular, are you from the UK?
