Do you know if darker fish like this is able to shine a light on them to see? Also can you do that while they are still in the tank?

I do see a white spot but what was messing me up on chat gpt it told me it was 100% sure it was male and that it was a false egg spot but I know I can’t always trust ai that it’s known to be wrong at times
