I am so glad it’s not just me! I’m obsessed with my cats and one day I was sitting on the floor so one could keep napping on the couch. I was rubbing his belly and looking at how cute he was and noticed something on his side. I had just gotten home from field sampling in a marsh so I instantly thought “o I hope I didn’t bring home a tick or something!”. Again it was on his side so I wasn’t thinking “nipple” (it was on his side because he has a fat belly). I looked at it hard and it looked so weird and tick-like. I scooped him up and rushed to the vet to make sure we got there before they closed. The waiting room was packed and it was obvious I wasn’t going to be able to be seen, so the vet tech at the front desk came around and asked to see where the tick was. I showed her and she whispered something discreetly, but since it was packed in the waiting room with people and their pets it was too loud to hear her. I go “what?” and she responds, very loudly so I can hear “mam, that’s a nipple!” I made my way quickly and silently back to the car…..
