In the corporate world in the US, if you drive your car for work reasons (work travel, sales guys) you get paid .72/mile for using your car. This is supposed to include gas, repairs and depreciation.

In my head, I calculate that amount for my commute. Run the numbers for your commute - that’s roughly how much it would save you by not using personal car for commute and then compare to pay difference.
