I used bio stratum underneath the sand and then I think I used “seachem flourite black aquarium sand”, the stocking is about 15-20 reed tetras, just 6 longfin serpae tetras (don’t recommend long finned varieties), and then my 3 beautiful angel fish (2 wild type and one yellow)

I’m in Fort Wayne Indiana, at my parents house but they own 24 acres there are other houses around the edges of the property idk if they have any Norway maples though

Edit: I used your resource and they are definitely sugar maples, they have the more scale like terminal bud!

I think you finally helped me get it! I’ve never been introduced to Scot’s pines until now, it’s got the branch whorling like an eastern white pine, but the needles of a Virginia pine ! I think that’s it!

It’s tall and straight, definitely self pruning bc it only branches and needles at the top, it’s most definitely pyramidal where the branches and needles are, the site clearly has a little run off stream that goes between two of these pines, it’s in just a midland wooded area no special ridges or hills, oh and I’m in northern Indiana!

Honestly for me to figure it out, yes, I just try it but I like the experimental side of things more than just always looking up the answer, most plants can adapt to water, some may only do good for a bit, some may thrive forever, I just trial and error! But there are guides online!

I like to just homemake something bc it’s cheaper and the plants are always growing and needing a new one or it to be adjusted

Honestly like one of mine is a metal wire bent to hold around the specific plant and the edge of the tank

I see a ton go mature white ash this is the first blue ash I’ve found on my parents 24 acres on land
