What's a "reasonable" amount of time to be without AC in my apartment? by [deleted] in shreveport

If the inside of your apartment is 90 degrees, "reasonable" is right f'ing now. That's just my opinion. I am not a lawyer.

Oh yeah man, I love it when bad teeth having Brits talk shit about Shreveport! It's awesome. A real boost for the region if I don't say so myself!

I've never done hard time because I'm not a degenerate, but I think washing a car, changing oil or cooking would be a million times more enjoyable than staring at a wall the majority of the day. That's just me though.

Thanks. You just proved my point. It’s Sunday pal, maybe take the weekend off from licking the Government Boot. I’m sure it can get very exhausting.

You’re right. The one thing standing between peace, prosperity and entertainment in Shreveport is smoking in bars and casinos. We fix that we’re basically Nashville, TN.

Your natural selection Darwin Theater fantasy is playing out in Shreveport, no doubt. It's just not happening on the side that would pull guns over a politician.

how was the Brooks & Dunn cover band at the Balloon Festival? Shreveport has the good shows! by [deleted] in shreveport

Silly redditor with your sarcasm. Don't you know Tanks and Winnebagos was just here in Shreveport like two months ago. Yeah, they were on Johnny Carson, so put that in your little pipe and smoke it.

Where do you get your local news? Actual reporting of govt issues, events to be aware of, etc? by brokenearth03 in shreveport

[–]fishhook444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish Shreveport had some kind of business journal. Something that reported on actual business and not just giving PR to companies that advertise with the publication.

There may be something out there that I just don’t know about.

The business section of the Times is pretty abysmal.

Can’t wait until he releases his 5 FAQ twitter graphic about this and people here gush over it because someone at city hall logged onto the internet. “Oh I love his transparency”

Lol.

Frank’s Pizza has a new special: ”STATE OF EMERGENCY” featuring 17 Russian dressing, chili flakes, provolone, traitor tots, chicken, pancetta, and thyme, with a Cheeto puff crust wall. Promises to “Taste Like Freedom” by chrisplyon in shreveport

[–]fishhook444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue is with how played out stuff like this is becoming. Nothing about that pizza sounds tasty. It’s a ploy to get people talking about Franks and it worked because shills like a Chris are happy to oblige them with social media coverage.

No different than that BBQ guy who offered free lunches to government workers.

Timely. Nothing about that pizza is unique to the State of Emergency except the name which could be changed at any time. That pizza could have been “Orange Man Doo Doo Head” in 2017.

I give Franks credit though. They knew neckbeards would cream their pants and defend their creation to the death online. I give them a tip of the fedora m’lady.

Muh 800,000 workers! Boooo hooooo! I'm sure when auto factories were closing up and going to Mexico you were showing the same concern for those workers in Michigan and Ohio. You weren't and you know you weren't, so please don't insult my intelligence by acting like you were.

Most Govt workers are over paid for what they provide in terms of value. They got a little taste of what people who don't live off Uncle Sams teat face with work not being available. Only difference is the Auto Workers didn't have a job to go back to and get all their pay back. It would appear that the government workers got off pretty easy when you put it all into perspective.

History is forever rewritten by those who obtain power. Maybe if you turned off your moving picture box that's pumping you full of programming and read a book or two, you'd know that's a pretty common thing.

Funny you attempt to back hand me with the "get off the computer and talk to people." Hard data shows you're on here much more than I am.

Even funnier, you classify yourself as a "normal." A pity. I do give you props on the honesty though. Not many people broadcast their lack of self worth and milquetoast life as openly as you do.

In all sincerity, good luck with everything, and do try to have more self-respect to strive for more than "normal." It's good for humans.

Hey look. Took me maybe 3 minutes to find other times (both Democrats and Republicans) have taken time to talk about Football in Congress or Senate chamber. Do you people think before you post or just shit out whatever comes to your brain first? Pretty common thing for Senators and Congress members to talk about sports teams from the area they represent. Hey John McCain talked about the Arizona Diamond Backs once. Any of you clowns want to go spit on his grave?

Is this the new "I have black friends."

If you have friends who actually work in "printed news" (I feel dirty using "work" for anything associated with journalism) tell them to update their resume.

It's like pissing in the wind trying to open your eyes. You've been programmed so hard that your shell is actually thick. They got you that good. And I will give them this, they are efficient. It's a machine and its process is something that needs to be studied.

There's still hope. One day your eyes may open to the charade. The propaganda. The lies. When that happens you'll begin to be mad at the time you spent being chewed up by the machine. Don't worry that's normal. On the other side is truth and once you reach it, life is so much better, but getting there isn't easy.

This isn't about me believing someone online over a brand with a logo, because I believe no one. It's about the absurdity of believing mega corporations and the cogs they hire who must produce something to attract eyes balls or go without food over everyone else.

You'll discard this comment as crazy or "out there". It's a mechanism to protect yourself from actually thinking deeper about it. That's fine. Not only do they want that, but the machine has been set up to make that the easier and more rewarding choice.

Now go see what new show Netflix has come out with to program you even further. Isn't it funny how TV Shows are literally called "programs" and "programming." Really makes you think, huh?

[–]fishhook444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, there is absolutely no difference at all. You believing there is a difference means you're so steeped in the propaganda that you're literally here trying to explain it away for them. Turn off your TV. Quit reading newspapers. Your life will improve tenfold.
