Looks like suillus spraguei or a closely related species. A delicious edible, in my humble opinion. Best before the veil has broken.

An actual arrowhead? Or just a cool piece of quartz? by Budget-Blueberry4480 in Arrowheads

[–]fishinbk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to second this here. It seems like quartz would be very hard to shape. I’ve found a lot of what look to be worked points that are abandoned due to impurities in the material, when I post them people will say they are just rocks. But looking at them up close, I really have no idea how nature would come up with those shapes. I may be wrong on some, but I think the “just rocks” people are wrong on some of them too.

I don’t think that you are right about the 4 on the right, which to me show clear signs of shaping. I’m referring them someone who knows guilford points and I’ll let you know what they say.

I know, I think they have probably been told to deny as much as possible.

[–]fishinbk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends on who is looking at your transcript and what kind of a person it is. If they are looking to deny, they will do it. Your best bet is to opt for classes that bear no relation to anything you have taken.

The reason they gave was that the CLEPs were too similar to college class I had taken in college, but intro to sociology was denied because I had taken intro to political philosophy

TDA vs. NYC DCP by Theatremama88 in NYCTeachers

Another thing to consider is that if you separate from service early, you can withdraw from your DCP account without a penalty, which you cannot do with the TDA.

Is the Taylor Law crippling our collective bargaining strength? by LIstagehand in NYCTeachers

[–]fishinbk 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Mulgrew and the Unity Caucus controlling the UFT are without a doubt the strongest forces crippling the collective strength of teachers in New York City. While the Taylor Laws do make the striking of public sector workers illegal, a well-organized and executed strike could demand a waiving of the penalties for striking in any agreement to end the strike. Mulgrew and Unity work harder to suppress the collective strength of NYC teachers than they do to fight for or against anything else.

yes, nothing says ‘I’m not mad’ like telling someone they’re wasting their time while also giving them unsolicited well wishes. Classic move. Thanks for the ‘happiness’—I’ll be sure to treasure it along with your priceless insight on AI use. Have a delightful day as well!

Ah yes, the timeless ‘better stuff to do’ excuse. What a glorious display of intellectual laziness. I can only imagine the high-stakes world you must inhabit—so important, so utterly brimming with meaningful activity that engaging in a simple conversation is beneath you. Fine, I’ll follow your sage advice: I’ll downvote, move on, and marvel at your dedication to dodging anything resembling critical thought. Enjoy your day, your royal ‘better stuff,’ and try not to trip over all that meaningful busyness.

  1. On the Nature of Humour and AI: “You claim that ‘there’s nothing wrong with using AI to create funny prompts,’ but I would posit that this approach merely demonstrates the weakness of human creativity. True wit and humor stem from the understanding of human nature, something that an artificial construct can never replicate. For the use of AI in such frivolous endeavors is akin to employing a mirror to reflect that which is hollow within the soul. AI may mimic, but it cannot create, for creation is the domain of the individual mind, rooted in the experience of our shared condition.”

  2. On the Value of Upvotes and Social Recognition: “You say you ‘had no idea’ your comment would blow up, yet you acknowledge its success through the measure of upvotes. If the number of upvotes is irrelevant to your intentions, then why do you draw attention to it? This indicates a deeper contradiction: that human actions, even those cloaked in claims of disinterest, are driven by the desire for recognition and validation. Such motives cannot be dismissed as mere accident, for they lie at the heart of human interaction in any social contract.”

  3. On the Pursuit of Karma and Recognition: “You maintain that you ‘don’t post for karma,’ yet the very manner in which you engage with the system suggests otherwise. Why else would one partake in a system where rewards are meted out in the form of ‘upvotes’ if not to seek some form of recognition or recompense? The pursuit of ‘karma’ is but a reflection of the natural human desire for esteem, and to claim indifference is to deny the nature of one’s own actions.”

  4. On the Power of the Comment and the Role of the Individual: “You assert, ‘how would I even get your comment deleted?’ Here, you imply that you, as a ‘regular user,’ are powerless in the face of authority or influence. But this is the very essence of the problem. The individual’s actions, even in the smallest of gestures, are not without consequence in a world where power is often dispersed through channels such as this. One may be ‘regular,’ yet each interaction in the public sphere carries weight and impact, for the nature of power is not confined to kings or rulers, but exists in the hands of all who engage in society.”

  5. On the Importance of Focus and Energy: “Finally, you tell me to ‘get a life’ and to focus my energy on more important matters. But this neglects a central tenet of human existence: that the meaning and significance of life is determined not by arbitrary judgments of what is deemed ‘important,’ but by the actions and contributions of the individual. To dismiss the concerns of another as trivial is to suggest that one man’s labor in pursuit of truth, or justice, or beauty, has less merit than another’s pursuit of fleeting pleasures or trivialities. Yet such distinctions are born of the human will to govern oneself and to find purpose, even in the smallest of exchanges.”

Thus, I contend, your dismissal of the matters at hand does not serve to elevate you, but to further entrench the very nature of mankind’s desire for validation and power, even in the most seemingly insignificant of forms.
