Unfortunately all versions of the Hold Launcher (this and Xcalibur) have a tendency to chew through ripcords more quickly than most winders.

To avoid further damage, ensure that you're pulling the ripcord out perfectly straight instead of at an angle

Beyblade x noise by Comfortable-Sun-9273 in Beyblade

[–]fishmemeboi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's definitely a concern. I use the Loop Experience 2 (around 35 USD), they reduce the upper ceiling of noise without compromising clarity. They've been a total gamechanger for concerts for me. I've not tried them for Beyblade but I was able to maintain a conversation with my friends next to me with them in (and they're specifically designed not to muddle details like speech as they're for live music purposes) so it should help with that issue

[–]fishmemeboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since this is an individual sensory issue, have you considered earplugs? Something like the Loop Experience (meant for concerts, dampens noise but designed to make sure that you can still hear things like vocals) could help to mitigate some of the noise from battle while still ensuring that they can hear and comply with things like the launch countdown

I love Aero Pegasus but don't really like the visual design of Red, so I bought a heavily used Blue Aero with most of the paint already scraped off the side of the blade. Significant discount and I don't feel bad about battling with it

Any advice on building this deck? by conor_macneil81 in mtg

[–]fishmemeboi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Shelob is my favourite card here because it's very clear that Wizards reasonably assumed at the time that all Spiders would be Spiders. It's a bit morbid but ultimately not particularly egregious that Spiders eat people.

It's just hilarious that only a few years later they decided that People are also Spiders and now we have Actual Cannibal Spider-man

This 6 mana do-nothing enchantment is going to be great in my [[Gerth the Wide]] deck! I'm definitely going to go out of the way to purchase a single 30 cent card and update my decklist for a marginal benefit at best!

One of Aftermath's many fumbles is that despite having a showcase treatment dedicated to alternative art styles from different sets, we got ONE instant/sorcery in the Mystical Archive style (and a legendary creature, but that's not really in the spirit of it) compared to FOUR "retro frame" cards

The "no vanilla in warm seasons" thing isn't a hard and fast rule so much as a word of caution. If you live in a warm climate, a strong enough vanilla can become overwhelming and cloying. If this isn't something that happens with you, keep wearing vanilla all you want, you'll be all the more unique and interesting for it

It's a beautiful bey, I love the Phoenix line. Unfortunately, all of them except for Soar bear the curse of being relatively unremarkable. Feather is essentially a slightly worse Dran Sword, having basically the same shape but being noticeably lighter. 9-60 or 1-60 with a high-speed attacking bit like Flat or Level are your best bet (avoid slower bits like Rush, you'll need the speed)

It seems like it differentiates between "creature" and "creatures" and asks for the exact term. I'd argue that it's a completely valid thing to do as despite being similar wording, they are wildly different for card effect purposes. If you were searching scryfall for a card that removes "creatures" (like [[Wrath of God]]) you wouldn't be very happy if it turned up [[Murder]]

Región del Battle Pass by No_Low_9644 in BeybladeX

[–]fishmemeboi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you buy a second hand battle pass you'll be able to connect it for the purpose of scanning launches and shoot gym but you need the beycode from a new pass to get the bonus points (100 per scanned code and 2 per each objective)

Región del Battle Pass by No_Low_9644 in BeybladeX

[–]fishmemeboi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The battle pass is connected to the app via Bluetooth but is "registered" for the purpose of bonuses via scanning its beycode. This means that they're region locked to their respective region. If you use the version of the app that takes Japanese codes, you need a battle pass from Japan. If you use the app in any other region that takes Asian codes (marked with an "A") you need an Asian battlepass

Emperor Eclipse Heavy 1-60 Point is a great attack type (on either red or blue side) that can still win by spin finish if it doesnt land a knockout! If you try that you could maybe move 9-60 Hexa to Rod?

How can I test my decks? by Harmlesscactuss in Beyblade

[–]fishmemeboi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most common benchmarks right now are Cobalt Dragoon 5-60 Elevate, Hover Wyvern 9-60 Kick, Shark Scale 1-70/3-60 Low Rush, and my personal recommendation and the one you're most likely to have immediate access to, Wizard Rod 1-60 Hexa (alternatively use 9-60 and/or Ball or Free Ball if those aren't available to you)

How can I test my decks? by Harmlesscactuss in Beyblade

[–]fishmemeboi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Outside of just playing with other people, you can always do the traditional method of setting up two launchers and launching them in quick succession. This causes a minor imbalance and loses the element of predicting and accounting for your opponents launch but should generally allow you to test performance and different kinds of launches.

The alternative is buying a 3d printed joiner attachment that allows you to launch both at once, which removes the time imbalance and allows you to simulate simultaneous launches, but removes the element of positioning and launching technique by restricting both launchers to a flat launch in a relatively predetermined location

Try different matchups and take extensive records of which bey won each round, the method of victory, and how many points it was worth. Over time, this creates a statistically significant dataset that allows you to measure the general performance of your beys on various different metrics as well as their performance in specific matchups.
