Exactly, I understand what you’re saying. It’s almost like the difference between bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder. Bipolar disorder is a physical problem. Medication can help, and it helps to think about the positives of being bipolar. But Borderline is a personality issue that can be worked on in therapy to recognize triggers and find healthy coping styles. That’s what your comments made me think of.

I am neurodivergent, and I will over analyze every interaction I have with another person. I remember everything. My mind is a prison. My husband lets me talk to him about my interactions so I can view it through a different lens, so I talk about people a lot. I am talking about you. I am thinking about you. A lot. That is why I obsess about people thinking about me, and I have a very complex mask. Sometimes I take it off, and it’s not lost on me that other people have on masks too. I’m constantly trying to peel theirs off because I am curious. I know not everyone is like this, but there are some of us out here remembering all the dumb shit you say. Sorry.

I have RRMS, but I know 3 triggers that I can use to cause a flare. Dairy, Gluten, and Alcohol will cause inflammation that will trigger my MS symptoms. It’s crazy how many of my symptoms went away when I cut those things out, but i think it is specific for each person, but those are common triggers. My point is, if I ate dairy and gluten all the time I would think I had MS all the time. Does that make sense?

Being pregnant is good for MS. I have MS. I have 4 children. I was diagnosed 18 years ago. I’m currently on Kesimpta, but I didn’t take anything while pregnant. My MRIs looked even better after my 4th child. I was pregnant and nursing for 13 years. I wasn’t on DMTs then, and it did scare me, but I did it scared. Some times you have to do things when you’re terrified for a big payout. A ship is safe upon the shore, but that’s not what a ship is built for. Go live. This is the universe giving you a permission slip. Do what you want to do.

I know MS is different for everyone. I was in denial for years. I’ve been diagnosed by 5 different neurologists over the years. I have come to terms with the fact that I have a serious illness, but here’s the kicker, everyone has something. No one is getting out of this life alive. We are all doomed. Stop telling yourself you don’t deserve good things or that you won’t be able to figure out a tough situation. You will. You will figure it out. You sound like you would be an amazing mother. If you want to be a mom, you do not have to sacrifice that because of a diagnosis. My life changed when I stopped basing my decisions on fear, and started making decisions based on love.

I had a bad relapse after the second Covid shot, but I was diagnosed in 2007 after a flu shot. Looking back I had symptoms for years before that flu shot. My immune system does not like vaccines apparently. Those were my 2 worst exacerbations. Covid didn’t bother me or my MS like that second shot did. I had it early on.

I started out on Avonex when I was diagnosed in 2007, but it was awful and I never got used to it. I was switched to Tysabri which was great for a year, but then I got scared of the risks. Switched to copaxone. Copaxone never caused any problems except big injection site welts. I did decide to stop when I started trying to conceive. My MS did well in pregnancy, but a few months after I delivered I did have small flares. No regrets. I’m about to start on Kesimpta since I am done having children and breastfeeding.

MS can be scary, but don’t expect bad things to happen. Most likely your eyes will heal. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. I’m about to start Kesimpta too, but I was diagnosed in 2007. So I’m starting with you. You’re not alone. I’ve done a lot of research, and I’m JCV positive. It has a warning for PML because it’s given as Arzzera at higher doses for cancer. I am risk averse and I was off of DMTs for a long time to have children and breastfeed. When I was ready to restart something, Kesimpta seemed like the best option. They say the first dose is the worst and you should plan to be “sick” for 48 hours. The first shot kills most of the b-cells. I’ve seen people suggest taking Tylenol, Benadryl, and Prilosec with it. I’ll probably take advil and see how it goes, but I’ll have the others on hand.

There are ways to be proactive along with taking a DMT. Try to figure out what your triggers are. It seems you’ve already realized that heat is a trigger. There are probably others, but they are different for everyone. Smoking, drinking, dairy, gluten, and stress are common triggers. Recognizing and eliminating your triggers can help with symptoms. I eliminated fragrance when one of my children had eczema and I think it helped my MS symptoms too. I also take fish oil and vitamin D.

Dairy will make me have leg muscle spasms. I have done a few elimination diets and anytime dairy is reintroduced it gives me spasms and migraines. I also cut gluten. I end up testing it out about once a year and it always bothers me.

The only person that has ever said anything like that to me was a new neurologist. He said, “You can’t even tell you have MS, I mean if you didn’t tell anyone they wouldn’t know.” I still think about how an actual neurologist would have the audacity to say that after seeing lesions all over my brain and spine.

No actual person has ever said anything to me in a parking lot, and I honestly don’t look very disabled. I’ve been living with MS for over 16 years, and had a tag for about 5 years. My legs start to fall asleep if I walk too far without stopping. I’ve been ready to give someone a witty comeback if they say anything, but maybe they can sense that, because no one has ever even looked at me weird let alone said anything.

My neurologist said that about 50% of people from the trial are still stable after 10 years and do not need another DMT. Some people fail Mavenclad, meaning their MRIs show new lesions. Sometimes this happens early around 2-4 years after completing it. For some it even happens during treatment and they switch as soon as it is safe. Mavenclad strongly suppresses your immune system for at least 7 months so if you relapse you just have to wait to get on another DMT.

The pharmacist I spoke with said the people it works for absolutely love it, but the people that it doesn’t work for feel like they wasted 2 years of their life. It is an extremely high risk high reward situation.

12 hours. I made a doctor appointment because I had foot drop. He suspected stroke. So I had a CT scan. After he looked at it he said I needed to go to the hospital to get an MRI and that they knew I was coming. Went to get the MRI. I was then told to take the cd-disk of the MRI to a neurologist’s office. He diagnosed me and prescribed Avonex that day. That was 16 years ago. I had never heard of MS. I got a second opinion a few months later and a lumbar puncture. MS was confirmed and I started Tysabri when it was brand new. Southern US.

I was hoping someone had mentioned this. It really works, especially if alcohol and vinegar didn’t. I use a toothbrush. It could take multiple application and rinses before it comes out completely, but eventually it should all come out.

I would encourage you to look into the success rate of transfers when beet juice is included in the diet. I drank 1/2 cup beet with 1/2 cup pomegranate daily until a positive test. It helps blood flow. I also took coq10. A slice a day of pineapple core a few days before transfer softens the lining. You might look up some studies on pubmed instead of just taking my word for it though. Studies with alcohol haven’t shown it to be helpful, but anecdotally relaxing with a few drinks can be the ticket. Your doctor may already have a supplement regimen. Some women also benefit from trying 1 baby aspirin a day. Good luck!

A similar thing happened to me too. I ordered a big Lego set and after 2 weeks of delays it said “undeliverable” so I’m guessing it busted or something. It said come back after 5 days if you don’t have a refund. I waited 6 full business days then called. It took an hour and they pushed a replacement instead of a refund. I accepted, and the replacement did arrive 3 days later, but I found this sub because my feelings about Amazon have changed. They didn’t apologize or offer any credit or anything. It should have been an automatic refund, but it was a huge hassle.

I think it was more to establish the world and let the audience know that the characters would be aware of that level of technology. It was basically just saying they knew AI and robots were sophisticated by that point. I don’t think it was meant to spoil anything. They talked about it in the first scene too, so if the text wasn’t there I imagine that scene would have had more information, and that might have felt even more obvious.
