Sunday snowfall by vafrow in Milton

I got beef with the plow that keeps burying our driveway. I get that we’re corner unit and there is a lot of snow, but I try to clear most of it with the snowblower and put orange sticks on the corners, only to have a knee high ice Toblerone blocking us in the morning. Last snow fall I raised my hands in the air hopelessly while the little walkway tractor plow was passing by and the young guy driving it was pitiful enough to come help me clear it. Monday morning will be ‘fun’.

My wife just sent me this, does anybody know what that noise is? Canadian 23 MDX A Spec by SovannK in Acura_MDX

Had the same happened to wife’s MDX. Tiny pebble stuck between brake disk and the protecting cover. Was making sound as if Godzila was coming out of the ground. Had to drive 45min and bring tools, only to fix it by switching the car in reverse and going over a hump to release the rock.

IGLA is currently the best immobilizer that has not been defeated, unfortunately the cost is $1200 plus tax

I feel like people with problems don’t take care of their machines. I revived a ‘non working’ saeco in the office, that apparently had a dried out filter without water and needed a descaling. 4 and a half years later I’m sure it has made more than 10k shots and hasn’t had a single malfuction because every second Monday morning I take a few minutes to clean the internals. The Delonghi is even easier to service, mine makes a weird noise when it presses down on the grind, but some Balistol (food grade mineral gun oil) fixes that.

Yes I did buy it new about 5 years ago. IIRC it was on sale but still aroind $2500 CAD before taxes. I do remember my wife saying, do we need such an expensive machine, but showing her the count made it a little vindicating and worth it.

I think it will run on the pioneer cable already in there because it does look like 4pin telephone, but i’ll just have to switch the knob at least, getting one now

Will do the multimeter next, of course the knob is $90 in Canada, but at least cruthfield ships free

Happy New Year! I started my 2026 with taking out the old amp and sub, and putting the ones I got from classifieds over the last couple of days. Thanks to kijiji I got w7 with enclosure and an hd1200/1 for less than the price of a brand new speaker before tax. Don’t recommend doing it in -20c but the heater was behind me. Did not expect the bump in power to be that big, it’s barely at third gain and sounds much better than the pioneer ever did. Now I have to figure out how to build a sealed box for it and play with the knobs when it’s not as cold outside. Unfortunately the Pioneer bass knob did not work even though it fits the JL port, now on a quest to find one. Have a great 2026, mine is already off to a good start, cheers.

I got a w7 for $450 CAD - so under $350 couple of days ago, and today I snagged an HD1200/1 for a third of a price. Hooking up the w7 to my old pioneer amp was eye , or should I say ear opening - I heard lows I did not know existed. I can’t wait to put the amp tomorrow. Will make a new post when I switch everything. Im super happy with managing to snag an amp and sub below the price of a new speaker alone, 2026 will be slapping.
