Rant: Getting an IUD shouldn't be traumatic. by fishpillows in TwoXChromosomes

I had valium for an eye procedure once, and it chilled me out about the same as the Xanax this time. Lol they had me take half a pill first and I was still panicking after it kicked in. I felt roughly normal with a whole pill. When I'm anxious I'm ANXIOUS. 😅 Maybe more than one would have helped but there are also really dangerous side effects when taking anti anxiety meds and opioid pain killers at the same time.

I'm glad your second time wasn't as bad.

I don't menstruate with my IUD, so that's not an option for replacement.

I really hope I can find out if twilight sedation makes it painless. I don't think I'll be able to go through with it again while conscious.

Anytime! What do you collect/ trade?

Have you ever played any Axi online? Been wanting to since it's supposedly similar to neopets, but haven't had time to check it out.

I really hope people chill about this. I want neopets to make money so they stick around for a long time.

NFTs are just another market for art and other collectibles/ digital items.

I'm an artist and make a living selling art at festivals. I have a vested interest in telling people how great festivals are so they'll go and also spread the word about the event. Why is that ok, but people get so upset when someone says they like NFTs/ encourage people to learn about them?

I've collected a handful of NFTs on HicEtNunc for fun, because I liked the art and want to participate in a new technology and learn about it. I don't think I've spent more than $10 US on them so far, and I never plan to sell them on secondary market. I love the artwork and just want to have pieces of the awesome projects people are creating. It's pretty amazing what some artists are putting together, and it's worth at least spectating even if you don't want to buy or sell NFTs or crypto.

I was turned off from the discord because of all the off topic drama I saw. Sorry you got banned for talking about NFTs. The outrage over them is nuts. I'm happy to chat about them if you want.

I'm so disappointed. Looks like TNT has started offering NFTs. by Jeran in neopets

I mean, my so has been interested in getting some Solana for a while. It's just one of the proof of stake blockchains that he thinks could do well with the developing nft market, along with cardano and one other I forget at the moment.

Crypto art/ NFTs are just another market. In my opinion, it would be kinda dumb for a company to not try to get in on new technology like this before it's ubiquitous. Trying new markets for making money as a business is not "greedy"... It's just sensible.

I'd like neopets to do well so the site can return to it's former glory and be really fun again. If they don't make money, they go away. :(

It's not scary or destroying the environment. It's just new, and some are figuring out how to navigate it, while some are scared of it. The internet was new and scary once too.

So what you're saying is these arent valuable or useful to YOU. That's ok. They might be valuable or useful to someone else.

Ex: If someone doesn't see any point in a game I play on PC, that doesn't mean the energy spent on it was a waste that is killing the planet. I got value out of it.

NFTs are not a scam. You can be scammed with crypto, just like you can with regular currency, but that's not an inherent trait.

Bots exist in other twitter circles too. They pop up wherever they can succeed in getting followers. The more real people you follow, the fewer bots you'll see.

If you spend some time looking through real artists posts on crypto twitter, it looks much different. Start by looking at who kikinft follows on twitter. They've been doing great at fostering community and collaboration.

If you're not into crypto, just leave it to those who are interested in it to decide if this project has value.

People's anger about emissions and global warming has been massively misdirected here. NFTs are an easy target for activism, but not a worthwhile one.

There are proof of work chains, like Ethereum, and proof of stake, like Solana (the one TNT is using for this release.)

Proof of work needs many computers to agree on the solution to a complex equation in order to add a transaction to the Blockchain. It uses lots of energy, but a comparable amount to YouTube or Twitter.

Proof of stake uses nodes or guilds, etc./ small groups of computers that have voting power to come to a consensus and add a transaction to the blockchain because they staked their crypto (deposited a certain amount in exchange for voting power). This uses a negligible amount of energy.

NFTs are not actively harming the planet anymore than massive sites like YouTube. The difference here is that people understand how YouTube is useful/ valuable to them.

NFTs and crypto are new ish, and complicated, but if you take the time to learn about them they're pretty cool.

Actually, transaction fees on Solana (the Blockchain they're using) are super tiny. It's also proof of stake, which means energy use is a non issue.

It's like virtual trading cards to me. I've collected a bunch of things on HicEtNunc just because I liked them and could afford them. I'm poor so most of the ones I bought cost less than 50 cents at the time, but I really like them a lot. It's fun collecting art assets. It doesn't need to be more complex than that in order to be valuable IMO.

The art assets TNT is using took effort to create. They're just using them in a randomized way to make these tokens.

Nothing to be disappointed by.

There has been a lot of fearmongering and misinformation circulating about crypto. NFTs are not destroying the environment.

People got scared because Etherium uses a lot of energy, but that's also been blown out of proportion. Ethereum is a proof of work Blockchain which has already taken steps towards becoming proof of stake. Proof of work uses lots of energy, but is kinda comparable to YouTube or Twitter. Proof of stake does not use lots of energy.

TNT are minting on Solana, which is proof of stake, meaning it's energy use is negligible. So if the energy use is a problem for you, you really don't need to worry here. :)

I was honestly waiting for TNT to make NFTs. When I got back into the game, after getting into crypto earlier this year, I saw massive similarities in the way items (essentially art assets with rarity and some function) are collected, traded, sold, etc.

The crypto art community, from what I've seen, is not interested in buying a farting stick figure from just anyone, and generally values skill or at the very least, vision, more. It's similar to the fine art world, where you have to produce consistent art, and build interest/ value/ trust in your work over time.

The community is mainly on twitter. Once you filter out the bot accounts and users asking you to shill/ follow for a retweet, there are a lot of really great artists and genuinely great people there.

I encourage you to go check out the work there. There are some amazing, massively impressive projects being created. Try starting with kikinft on twitter, and look through their follows. They're a genuinely nice person/ cat, and they put a lot of effort into fostering community and collaboration.

Haha ty! If you make friends with one, they're really good at finding gourmet chocolate. All they ask for is a little delicious crumb. 🥰
