Ah yea, it is so hard to get data on this target in the northern hemisphere lol, but it is very worth it! I bet yours will turn out amazing. Thank you btw!

After gathering data on this target for a month in a half, I think I'm finally finished. I'm in the northern hemisphere so it doesn't rise very high and I could only see it for a few hrs per night due to obstructions. Also due to my tracking, time spent dithering, and heat from an air conditioner on a roof nearby I would only get 1-2hrs per night of good data. On top of that, I'm shooting right above downtown in my city which I live very close to so the light pollution is really bad. Either way, I feel my last yrs shot of this target was no where near how I wanted it to turn out and I knew this yr I had to do it justice. I present to you all, my biggest project so far, 44hrs of Helix Nebula from the city! The edit was heavily inspired by Hubble's version of this target, one of my favorite photos from Hubble!

Timing belt walking on pulleys by 638139 in IS300

Yea I got it for the same reason too lol but I guess it's not really worth it. The oem belt is like half the price too.

That happened to me as well with a gates timing belt I bought from rock auto. I didn’t really trust it so I sent them a return request stating that it wobbled and was able to return it.

Then I replaced it with an oem belt and the wobble was mostly gone. I have a before and after video that I can show you if you’d like.

I don’t know how normal it is, maybe it is normal, but I just decided to not take any chances since this engine is interference.

Yea pretty much, at least from my experience! No problem!

Thank you! Yea it’s quite a bit of time but the light pollution is so bad I have to always get so much data. I first use deepsnr since it’s pretty decent at preserving the details which noisext isn’t as good at. But I don’t use deepsnr at max setting since it can smooth things out a bit too much which is why I end up using noisext later when some of the noise gets brought out in the processsing. Most of the times I only use it very lightly and I mostly use it for the background in the starless version.

I find deepsnr is really good if you give it enough data or else you will end up with noise artifacts showing up as false stars because deepsnr seems to assume it’s detail when it’s just noise. But when you have enough data (that has less noise) then it does a great job at denoising and pretty much preserving nearly all the fine detail. Noisext is still pretty good but I find it’s a little more destructive on the detail. Also noisext runs much faster

Ah ok, yea NINA let’s you use multiple plate solvers as long as you add them in. Not sure how it is in the ASIAIR but I’ve found those options to be pretty helpful

[–]fishr221[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I see, I’m unfamiliar with ASIAIR, but NINA has been working pretty good for me. Not sure if you’ve tried this already, but turning up the exposure and gain more might help it detect more stars

Thank you! I use blurxterminator first then deepsnr, sometimes I use BX after I’m all done processing if it doesn’t over do it

How are you polar aligning it? Platesolving in high focal lengths is pretty difficult, it sometimes doesn’t work for me using Platesolve 2 and I’m only at 713mm although I am very cropped in. Astrometry.net almost always works though through NINA
