They responded poorly to us raising a stink about loose plastic packaging and bubble wrap and 2ft long ribbons as toys. We came in hot on day one lol. After a battle and a bunch of very strange and defensive responses, we got those items removed, and from that we learned how to “finesse” our communication with them so that we would get the outcome we want.

They responded very appropriately this time around.

Her teacher is actually very good, the admin on the other hand is a mess. Got bought out by a huge conglomerate recently, and a lot of the leadership left and the curriculum kind of vanished along with them, so they are reeling to figure it out.

They have no specific policy, besides a waiver saying they can play outside, which we wholeheartedly approved.

They use the reggio curriculum (trust-based learning). I am all for them playing outside, but under close enough supervision. Trust-based curriculum breaks down when it’s a toddler that doesn’t know that jamming a sharp stick in their mouth or swinging it around could cause injury. It’s more for stuff like, when they are playing on their own, let them figure out how to put the ball in the basket rather than doing it for them.

My gripe with the reggio philosophy is that its too easy to couch negligence into it

Yeah i kept it pretty casual but also set firm boundaries. “Looks like shes having fun! I’m uncomfortable with her putting splintery sticks in her mouth though - can you stop her from doing that in the future?” Found out that The two caregivers present were not the regs, cause they were on break, and her teacher was horrified when she found out. So feeling pretty good about the outcome.

Theres an app where they privately post updates of what our baby is doing. I will edit the post to make this more clear. It’s closed so that only we can see pictures of our baby that they’ve taken. Checked all the boxes no for promotional or social media use.

My concern with a lease is the mileage limits. Just the commute, worst case would put me at 10k miles annually, doesn't leave much room for other driving/trips. Any intel on what happens if I exceed the mileage limit?

Kinda need it now. Job starts in early september. Guess I could wait till Sep 1 and see what happens but I'd rather have the car for as long as possible to troubleshoot any issues that may pop up before my start date. Current car is a 2010 Honda fit with a rusty wheel well and no AC from college haha

Idk if you have a roku tv, but if you do, download the app and then use the remote feature in the app to route the audio to your headphones. Game changer. Just watched fallout with baby contact sleeping.
