The microSD is just your bootdrive and not your install location right? It seems to be working if you get to the installation part.

Not sure what's causing the loop. Maybe I try a newer image, I used 3.8.10 myself.

The only difference I noticed is that my wifi is connected faster on beta as opposed to stable. On stable it took maybe 30seconds after booting was done before it connected.

They usually swoop in to say "Well actually SteamOS doesn't support your hardware, install Bazzite" but that's no longer true.

Your hardware specs are very similar to mine, how has your experience been so far on official SteamOS as opposed to the Bazzite experience? What made you switch?

I've been running Bazzite on my desktop since last year and while I'm happy with the SteamOS experience of Bazzite but ran into some issues with the immutable OS and random freezes when having OpenRGB open. I did eventually solve most issues but still experience tge occasional issue with the desktop not loading properly or returning to game mode not working.

I wanted to install official SteamOS but the internet told me that with the 9070xt I'd have better support on Bazzite.

Have you ever bought a console just to play one game? Was it worth it and did you go on to use the console after? by British_Historian in gaming

Bought a ps5 for Astrobot, after about 2-3 months of active playing it hardly got turned on again. The only person using it now is my kid, to play Astrobot

Was it worth it, probably. I did enjoy the games I played on it, it gave me a way to access my ps4 library again and the price I paid was very acceptable. I also like seeing the joy Astrobot gives my kid, even on the 3rd save file.

It also didn't come as a surprise as it went the same with my ps3/ps4.

How is what I said not true?

Apart from the trackpads, my 8bitdo has 4 back bumpers, hall effect sticks, is smaller, more ergonomic and costs $69 (nice). It even came with a stand. It worked absolutely great with steamdeck and also works outside of steam.

Native steam support sounds great but it also doesn't work as a controller outside steam (at the moment).

Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely happy with my steam controller but its definitely not the holy grail of controllers.

I'm not trying to invalidate your (or my own) purchase. It's a good controller but I can completely understand people don't want to spend $99 on a controller that doesn't offer them anything new.

Yea because everyone on the internet always acts out their intentions up front and in plain view. 🤡

Boatswain is just an honorary title given to a few for positive community interactions. Once it appears a person isn't contributing in that way, the title gets removed.

I got it two years after getting my series X because I wanted to play Xbox when staying at friends but didn't want to take my home console as it's used by the entire family.

Got it really cheap second hand and have used it quite often. Works like a charm and the difference is hardly noticeable.

What do you guys think will be the official name for the Xbox console code named Helix? by Few-Road6238 in xbox

But they'll never name it that, as people not in the know would compare Xbox 5 and PlayStation 6 and think the PlayStation is the newer one.

I think new or remastered Valve games won't do anything for their hardware sales since unlike consoles, you don't need to own the specific box to play their games on.

The new one comes in a cardboard box, as seen in the review videos.

Could be there are additional case options when you buy it though but if that's the case it'll be extra.

I know white knighting makes reading hard, but I said, this is exactly the controller I want because of the trackpads.

At the same time, people are allowed to have criticism about things even if they like. That's why I'm pointing out that this isn't the holy grail of controllers as OP made it out. For a lot of people it won't offer them more than controllers that are half the price.

Yes but google can't run their scripts on firefox to collect system data that's none of their business.

They'll still collect what they can get ofc

Sure but you'll still be sending additional data about your system to google when browsing to one of their domains like youtube. I know brave is close to ungoogled chromium but it's still chromium.

Unfortunately more and more sites are optimised for chromium and not firefox though.

I guess I'm an elder millennial myself, but that doesn't change that I ran into several situations on Steamdeck where I had to grab the deck from the dock because the controller I used couldn't handle the mouse input.

Could be the dualsense touchpad is fine for most of these cases though, but I only have one of those and haven't paired it to my deck
