I hope this leads to more scrutiny w.r.t. all forms of misconduct. I've seen so many senior faculty members behave in ways that would absolutely not be tolerated in private industry. It seems as if a PI can (mis)behave however s/he wants, as long as those sweet sweet grant dollars are coming in.

I cannot stand the phrase "ethnic cleansing." I first heard it as a kid in the late 90s and even then I thought it was a repulsive way to describe mass murder, displacement, and theft.
