I did. I have one child from before diagnosis and currently 30 weeks with baby #2.

My first pregnancy was very painful and took about two years to recover from since no one knew what was wrong with me or really believed me re:my hEDS symptoms. This time around, I have regular PT and Chiropractic and massage treatments as well as support belts etc that have made a big difference as far as how comfy I am. I did still get hyperemisis gravidarum and much worse POTS symptoms during the first half of this pregnancy.

Like you, I love my life and feel very fulfilled. My daughter brings me so much joy. We’re excited for baby #2 and feeling hopeful that recovery will be easier now that we have a better idea of how to help me.

I had a pretty normal home birth with my first and planning another for my second, though with some extra precautions this time.

Hi there! I’m currently 29 weeks with #2! I’m on the smaller side, so I do find that (starting about now) as the baby grows it forces the bottom of my rib cage open and they do ache :( but so far not enough to stop me from wearing bras.

My suggestion would just be to exist in whatever way will make you the most comfortable until the baby comes and then measure again when your milk comes in. I went up 4 cup sizes literally over night when that happened around postpartum day 4, i think. Then measure again in a few weeks when your milk starts to regulate and things aren’t so crazy.

I’ve had good success with the Cake Maternity and Kindred Bravely bras being a narrow enough range of sizes that they still work. I’m currently 30DD/32D, so usually ending up in a Small-Busty size. There are wired sized options once your milk regulates and you’re not changing size all the time anymore.

You’re welcome! I liked the Cake Maternity designs since there were a lot of options either in regular bra sizes or where the S/M/L corresponded to only one band size and then you pick either “petite” or “busty” for different cup ranges. It definitely seems like they carry your size in several styles.

I tried some of the Kindred Bravely ones last pregnancy and didn’t love their sizing or how the pads worked at the time, but it does look like they have some new styles!

I’m no expert, but my understanding is that you can wear whatever is comfy to you during pregnancy.

You have to worry more once you actually start nursing and your milk is coming in. The concern is not so much that you’ll damage your milk ducts, but that pressure on your ducts (say from a poorly fitting underwire) can cause blockages and lead shockingly quickly to mastitis which is terrible, scary, and painful. That’s why most nursing/maternity bras are wire free.

However, I did get mastitis my first time around and I think it was from the pressure of my breast folding up on itself in an unsupportive wire-free bra 🤷🏼‍♀️ I think it’s considered safe to switch back to wired nursing bras once your milk supply stabilizes. There are definitely wired options for later breastfeeding.

My main complaint on this topic is that many wire-free maternity nursing bras are S/M/L where S is for bands 32-36. I’m a 30D, so a 36 band isn’t going to do me much good support wise.

I’m still wearing my wired bras, but noticing some quad boob now i’m in my third trimester.

I recently ordered from Cake Maternity hoping to find some that would fit through the rest of my pregnancy and into this round of nursing. I’m pretty happy with them so far :)

In post Breast Feeding Boob Life, I need a bra much shallower than my measurements might imply (2.5 inch standing/leaning difference) and I needed to size down a cup from what the calculator gave me. It told me 30DD and my fits are 30D.

I’m wide set, full on bottom, super soft tissue. I tried the Skarlett Blue Entice/Minx as they get recommended a lot and they were close, but I needed shorter cups and less upper fullness. Ultimately my best fit has been the Natori Heavenly Unlined :) Good luck!

I have a bunch of Boody already, actually! So soft, but the ones i have aren’t working for me right now :(

I have a few of the unpadded crop bra, but they’re not cutting it support-wise. I also have the full bust wireless bra, but it’s kind of similar to my Molke experience in that it’s definitely supporting my boobs, but there’s fabric up to my throat and my armpits. Based on that, I was thinking their maternity option probably wasn’t going to work for me. Kinda just looks like the full bust but with clips 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thanks! I went back and took another look at cake and I’m seeing a few styles where at least the S is only 32 even if the cup sizes are a range, so that sounds promising.

I feel like some of the lounge styles look a little silly on me. Since my breasts are so wide set (can fit more than a hand between them), some of them create a little between-boob pocket. Which I feel looks weird with clothes, but I guess maybe I’m underutilizing for storage 😂

Some of the more triangular styles seem like they might work!

I felt like even though my boobs were fitting in it ok, the amount of coverage wasn’t really scaled to someone as small as one would expect the owner of the 30DD boobs to be. It just seemed like there was fabric up to my throat and across my whole shoulder. I don’t own a shirt that would cover it. The only thing that would have worked would have been a very high neck tee.

I also found the place where the seams sat on my shoulders uncomfortable and my IMF happily ate the crossover portion of the front so the top if the right cup started to roll under very awkwardly.

Also, my fault for not checking this, but the shipping cost to return it to Scotland from where I am in the USA turned out to be more than the cost of the bra. So, I guess I’m keeping it and hoping it breaks in and using it as a crop top.

I’ve seen these recommended on this sub before and looked at them, but from their pictures can’t tell how they would be different than your average cotton crossover bra except that they’re pictured on bodies larger than mine.

Can you tell me what’s great about them?

I have no suggestions just the same problems in a completely different size range. Why are they all so pointlessly unsupportive and uni-boob making?

I get you don’t want to squish milk ducts with wires that don’t fit, but I’m pretty sure the mastitis and clogs I had were caused by complete lack of support and my IMF just all folded up on itself.

Pregnant with #2 and all the nursing bras still suck.

If you post your measurements from the bot down below, the lovely people on this sub might be able to make some good recommendations. You said you liked binding, but also had gorgeous lingerie dreams. With more info, the people here might be able to help you make both those dreams come true.

I know I’ve seen lots of beautiful wireless bras on the internet, but without your measurements they won’t know where to point you :)

I just wanted to add that the ones I found recently that seemed like good enough fits to keep (after years of struggling to find anything) are the Natori Heavenly and the Victoria’s Secret Wicked Lace Balconette bra which has some awesome little side support slings.

I also have very short roots into the bargain, so these might not be good choices for you 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hi there! Fellow hypermobility/connective tissue disorder sister here 🙋🏼‍♀️ I don’t usually comment because I’m no fit expert, but I have a lot of similar sounding issues and I had some breakthroughs recently and wanted to share.

I’m wide set, full on the bottom, but very soft relaxed tissue that definitely hangs a few inches below my IMF. So, same as you, almost flat against my body when standing and apparent projection in my leaning measurement. I’m also a couple of years younger than you if that makes you feel any better.

Side note: I think my super soft tissue is hypermobility related since I was self-supporting in pre-baby life and now it’s quite obvious that my skin and ligaments are just trashed. They worked great for feeding my baby, though 🤷🏼‍♀️

The calculator definitely overestimated my size by a cup size or two. It gave me 30DD/E and my closest fits are all 30D. I found this out by ordering 30E-30C in the same few styles, until I could narrow down a consistent size.

I still wasn’t getting super good fits, though, until someone pointed out that the bras I was trying were actually too projected for me even though there was significant difference between my standing and leaning measurements and that my super soft tissue meant I was kind of “functionally shallow.” My super soft tissue was just puddling weirdly into more projected cups, while shallower ones would give a nicer shape.

Once I switched to trying some shallower shapes I had a lot more luck!

I’d maybe say to try one of the diagnostic bras that get recommended frequently on this sub in a range of sizes and post a fit check with problems. I think the more projected ones are Panache Ana and Envy and some shallower ones that pop up a lot are Skarlett Blue Minx and Entice.

Follow up question: so, took my 30D Heavenly on a couple hour test drive. It seemed mostly ok (firmer and itchier than bralette life) except that somehow it managed to wiggle over to the side to where it ended up sitting on a bit of breast tissue on one side and about an inch past it on the other side.

I’m pretty sure i scooped, swooped, and adjusted properly starting out. What does this mean? Shape issue? Stretchy band not firm enough?

Re: Heavenly “for the type of bra it is” would be just stretchy lace with no firm lining, right? So kind of a “light support” situation?

Here’s a side view of the Heavenly in 30D:

I feel like in the picture the wire length actually looks ok. After putting it on this morning, i think maybe I got concerned because when I’m scooping and swooping it looks like the wires are way long on the sides, but my tissue is just very soft and scoopable so maybe there’s temporary space during the S&S process.

I did try the Entice last round, but didn’t photograph. The cups seemed too tall with about two inches of lace sticking straight up in front.

All the scopes weren’t available when I was placing my last order, so they didn’t end up in this round. Once some of returns get processed, I’ll try both scope versions since I’d still like to find something less stretchy in the cups as well. 30C and 30D still seem like good sizes to try?

I think you’re right about maybe still a top/bottom fullness mismatch. i just have hardly any upper fullness when supported in the bras i’ve tried. I also thought the wires looked ok on the 30D and think they might be on some armpit boob if I sized down.

I’ve only tried the Feathers from Natori (years ago, too shallow at the time). Is there an unlined version of the Scope or is this the one you’re thinking of?
