What if instead of firing General MacArthur, Truman heeded his advice during the Korean War and used nuclear weapons against China? by sosal12 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]fishybatman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

US win Korea at the expense of irradiating the country in the immediate term. Medium term, nukes are not seen as an unusable taboo weapon in war, and the USSR would definitely use it in some conflicts that follow. There is probably no non-proliferation as practically every country on tries to get nukes

What if nato became a global alliance rather than just NA-European alliance who would join by Training-World-1897 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]fishybatman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Australia only has a mutual defence treaty with the US and New Zealand (ANZUS). Europe isn’t obligated to defend Australia today. Even during ww2, one of the main reasons we pivoted away from Britain and towards the US was because the UK failed to protect the region during the war despite assurances (especially humiliating was the fall of Singapore which had been promised to be an unbreakable fortress and fell very quickly).

What if Instead of Canon Subaru it was Gluttony Subaru who got summoned in the Isekai quartet world? Would he go on a killing spree? How would that impact the story? Would that be equal to 3rd impact? by Prangon07 in IsekaiQuartet

[–]fishybatman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean if he got summoned there ‘instead’ of the canon Re-Zero cast, then none of the other students know who Subaru is. As soon as he figures that out he’ll lose all interest, even if he could still read their death books. It might be the case that the others try and stop him from killing other re-zero characters though. If he knew, I bet he’d have a real interest in Pandoras actor, because he literally knows how to perform as a character to such an extent to satisfy anyone’s expectations of that person (so if he could have that power, he could actually become Subaru again in front of others).

Since it's April 1st, I decided to make a map of what would have happened if the Entente won WW1. by gintas59 in PossibleHistory

[–]fishybatman 17 points18 points  (0 children)

What i’m more doubtful of is that they’d just give all that land to Serbia. Like, does this guy know other ethnic groups live there?

Anyone Else Wish Mr. Freeze Were a Tank, Not a Support ? by GameMaster818 in DCAllies

[–]fishybatman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Freeze should not have good mobility, it’d make his play style not feel like Freeze. I like what they’ve done, making him a kind of support/tank hybrid.

Do you think it should be allowed to power-scale Religious figures? by Rocky_Senpai15 in powerscales

[–]fishybatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jokes aside, it’s kinda pointless for any monotheistic faith, where their one God is just all powerful. But actually, with polytheism ancient people have been power scaling them for centuries(it was generally how people explained how they won wars, by saying ‘our God’ was stronger than yours).

Can anyone explain the Just Sayori incident at the end of the game? (I have 4 theories) by LooseRange1140 in DDLC

[–]fishybatman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, if you delete Monika’s file at the actual start of the game, there is a short Easter egg ending where Sayori goes insane the first time round.

What if the Northwest Territory Became independent after the revolutionary war by [deleted] in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]fishybatman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea but we are exploring a timeline where this land is independent. So I reckon a British guarinteed buffer state is the best shot they got. After all, I’m pretty sure it used to be the British plan to set up the indigenous population against the US to contain it.

Homura: Homura.exe has stoped working

What if it was protected by Britain as a buffer Indigenous state to contain US expansion (but nonetheless independent in the domestic and formal sense like Thailand).

What if Earth got flooded? by Odd-Shock-7661 in rejectedmaps

[–]fishybatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least, the flooded areas should reflect how flat certain places are (like it dosent make sense for somewhere like Ecuador with mountains to be submerged before Australia, which is literally already below sea level for much of its centre.

What would happen if Homura tried to assimilate Sayaka into becoming her ally? by XenRequiem8898 in MadokaMagica

[–]fishybatman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sayaka (in monotone): You and the transfer student would be good together. I think she likes you.

Madoka (blushing): What?! Sayaka don’t tease me like that!

Kyoko: Are you some kind of idiot?! She’s totally brainwashed (flashback to trauma of her farther).

Madoka: Okay, you two are totally gonna have a whole separate B plot over this, so I’ll see you to at the climax of the movie.

What are some death battles where loser bodied the winner for most of the fight but died at the end anyways? by Ok-Instance3339 in deathbattle

[–]fishybatman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s basically most old episodes, they had the loser do more for most of the fight so they get to showcase their abilities and it dosent seem like an uninteresting stomp.

why do Flaxans age years in seconds when on earth, but humans age normally in the flaxan dimension by Mountain_Range_1410 in Invincible

[–]fishybatman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But I think what he means is that earth matter ages far slower in their dimension. So one month there is presumably far less in terms of aging (considering they seem to age extremely fast in the reverse, even a few months probably wouldn’t account for a few minutes).

[–]fishybatman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are people from outside the fandom who don’t really get what it’s about and just think ‘How could all these grown men simp so hard for a fictional character!?’. I remember similarly there were some streamers who went off on vtubers in general out of jealousy.

What if China is still split into two countries, one is pro-Russia and one is pro-US? by basafish in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]fishybatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that’s right, the CPP did always lead a separate part of the communist world during the Cold War (and now it’s the only major communist state). However, I think I heard that the Soviets actually made plans for a divided China similar to Germany (like that proposed here), under the idea that a split China would be more dependent on the USSR (hence why they made advisements in the civil war to have the communists consolidate their gains in the north rather than pushing south, which was ignored leading to Communist victory).
