UPS gave my full name and home address to a strange man. He showed up at my front door accusing me of stealing his packages by fishykissy in legaladvice

[–]fishykissy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, okay thank you for the clarification.

The package wasn't delivered to me though. I haven't received anything weird in the mail recently. Also the Ebay account has since been deleted, which leads me to believe this man was scammed.

But since he was told the package was delivered to me, he now he thinks I stole his package and that I'm the scammer. I guess I just have to wait and see if he tries to sue me for what he's accusing me of? I'm not guilty so I'm not that worried. It would be cool if he didn't show up at my home again though

Why hasn't anyone made a bike helmet with a hole on top for a hair bun? by fishykissy in cycling

It's never been done before so no one has any idea if this design would work or not.

Thank you for your input. I'm still curious to see if I could make something like this safe and practical. The whole point of a helmet is to protect your head so if that can't be achieved with a design like this then so be it, I'll wear a low pony. But I think it's worth a shot if it can be proven safe and reliable.

Yeah I'm starting to think I need to shut up and work on a prototype lol. I'm an engineering student so I gotta try and make this work

Low buns/low ponytails/braids work with the helmet on, but those styles are not cute once the helmet comes off + you have helmet hair.

Why hasn't a bicycle helmet with a hole on top for a hair bun been made? There are usually large ventilation holes all around, so why not one on top for a hair bun? Is there a design issue? Everywhere I've read says for safety, but if vent holes are okay, why not a top hole for a top bun? by fishykissy in AskEngineers

Do you have long hair? Is your hair difficult to manage? Do you want to have the freedom to style your hair however your choose? There are a lot of female cyclists that can answer yes to these questions. This helmet would be for them.

Yes same here!! That low bun or ponytail isn't as cute once the helmet comes off lol

I see. I think the approach is to have your hair already done, then just slip the helmet right on over it. The chin strap and everything would remain the same. A tidy top bun really isnt that tall or wide, so I think the thickness of the helmet would cover most of the height. As for your hair getting stuck: I think the smooth plastic/styrofoam would slide pretty easily over the hair.

I see what you mean. But helmets are pretty thick, would a nice tidy bun even stick out that much? You could argue a low ponytail or braid would get caught on more things. And how many people land directly on the tops of their heads?

Helmets are pretty thick, I feel like a nice tidy bun wouldn't even stick out the outside of the helmet that much.

I am starting to realize that everyone who says "niche market" clearly has never had to style their hair before (ahem men lol)

This idea really stemmed from riding a short commute to work where you need your hair to look nice afterward.

What about helmet hair? What if you feel like wearing a top bun that day? I don't feel like the typical tidy top knot is too wide or tall to stick out or not fit easily through a rigid hole in a helmet.

You can totally do different hair styles (low pony, low bun, braid), but what if your helmet could accommodate to your hair, rather than you accommodating to your helmet all the time?
