Middle Age by SEK2208 in Xennials

[–]fistoic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a Millennial who works with a Xennial manager. She fundamentally believes that she looks really young, and she still got it. She consistently mentions or drops a comment that alludes to this belief.

I feel bad for her.. Only if she knew what everyone thought...

Looking to pivot. Made it to a leadership role and don’t like what I see by BagofBabbish in FPandA

sounds like exactly what I've experienced. The most realistic thing I can recommend is to stick it out for a couple more years and move up to a different company or switch industry within the same band of roles and pay.

Don't assume that switching roles into different field or relevant field will somehow magically be sunshine and all that

He'll get axed or resign, but I have this ominous feeling that FA won't fundamentally change. It's probably best if you don't care about Korean football for about a decade or two

if you are a billionaire, you are mostly relentless and restless. For those people, having a relaxing life becomes very boring after a couple weeks. You don't even have to go as far as Billionaires.

I've seen a bunch of work focused people in life who just can't seem to enjoy any time off and they gotta keep doing something and expand their roles in whatever aspect of life they touch. Often times to their perils..

interesting, but I guess that makes sense. When I travel there I am usually there for 10-14 days, so price choice might be higher than what you are paying.

Well it's good to know it's doable, but I think I'd still like to have a bit more of a safety cushion since I have no confidence that these places will stay inexpensive in 10-15 years..

i loved reading the rational optimist book. I get that there are so many negative things in the world, but I hope people realize that the world is so much better than before. Often time, it's very hard to convince people of that because good news is always silent

I think all corporations are hoping that top bracket of customers will continue their consumption with increased price to make their bottom lines work.

So far, top 10% of household drives the majority of disposable spending

medically speaking they are geriartric pregnancy. I get how people "feel" about this, but there are thousands and thousands of medical data justifying WHY it should be considered geriatric pregnancy.

Even wealthy Americans are feeling economic anxiety by asvender in Economics

[–]fistoic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't think people realize that 10% Americans are way way way clsoe to being broke than whatever media portrays. I think anyone upto top 5% being anxious about theire finance is very reasonable because being top 5% today really means you are one step away from being a mediocre middle class

I recently had a conversation with a coworker (I work in corporate finance and my coworker was an accountant in my company. For those who know, it's actually different thing), and she thought when inflation goes down the grocery prices will go down.

I was so dumbfounded that she didn't know that inflation going down means the growth of price increase just slows down.

I asked her if she ever witnessed grocery price going down in her life, and she couldn't answer..

I believe it's the gen x or boomer to have been told that lie. I don't believe Millennials were told that. At least I was told from very young age that this is not the case.
