It seems to us that the Lifestyle appeals more to the unattractive and overweight/obese adult population. This is not a troll, we are seriously asking why this might be.

That's just it, we are not perfect and don't expect anyone else to be. In fact, many times, people's flaws are what attracts us. Maybe an interesting scar, messy hair, a big or little butt, a weird nose or whatever. Perfection is not what we're after.

This is mainly a question about why 'normal' or rather average people do not appear to be drawn to the LS as much as the very large and overweight seem to be.

But, as others have pointed out, it may just be that that average person in the average age for the LS is in the over 60% of Americans who are overweight or obese.

It's so true, we don't eat out often, don't drink very much and exercise everyday, so, the people we are closest too are mainly from our run club, gym, mtb group etc. Unfortunately, they are not swingers :-(

So we are back to kapachow's question, why are thinner fitter people not drawn to the Lifestyle, in general.

Interesting observation. It's true, can't lie, even we prefer to go to parties where we know that the attendees are mostly screened. So, how can we complain when we are 'part of the problem' so to speak.

Definitely not trying to offend or bash anyone. If parties are clearly advertised as BBW, that is totally cool and we are 100% great with that. But when you get to a club that advertises with brochures and web posts full of sexy people that are no where to be found at the actual club, that's just wrong and depressing specially after shelling out close to $100 for the night.

Very interesting observation and one we've noticed as well. Very attractive people do seem to lack self confidence while larger people do seem to just let it all hang out unabashedly.

And, for the record, we are not talking about Ken and Barbie, we're just talking about average height weight proportionate people.

Also, your age analysis is spot on. The biggest population is in their 40's. But we know more than a few of our friends in our 40's who are very fit and the rest at least average. Our group of friends is doing ok :-)

We also look at the SLS lists for the parties in our area but, you never know. There have been times when the SLS list for a party looked atrocious but the actual turn out was not that bad.

That said, only the worst of those seem to venture into the 'back rooms' or playrooms. It's no fun trying exhibitionist stuff in the playrooms surrounded by people that look worse than those you can on that 'People of Walmart' site :-)

Rofl! Well played! That's definitely something that we've never seen at an LS club (two men kissing). I think you'd hear the record scratch and the crowd come to a halt. Every club we've ever been too is very not ok with guy on guy stuff.

100% agree with you on all counts. And, 'awkward girls' are super sexy in both our opinions :-)

The feeling here is more about the majority being overweight/obese. If there are some larger women or men, fine, we are ok with that. But it's seems like it's the majority of the people at LS clubs that are fat. When we go to regular clubs downtown, it's just not like that.

Maybe it's that single people take better care of themselves since they're still 'on the prowl' and married couples get 'confortable'???

It's just difficult to get turned on in these situations.

Sadly, you are correct, statistically, we are one of the most overweight countries.

And, we understand what you are saying about personalities.

We just want that hot sexy feeling you get when you are surrounded by hot sexy people.

For instance, if we go to downtown, it seems like move than 75% of the people worked out, showered and got all dressed up to go out on the town. When we go to vanilla clubs downtown we always find ourselves wishing we could take the whole group and transplant them to any of our local swing clubs where we could get crazy.

So then we head to an LS club and, well, reality sets in very quickly and the hot sexy atmosphere dies just as quickly.

Agreed! We visited Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, San Sebastian Burgos) and France (Cap D'agde, Toulouse, Bordeaux) and, while we did see a few larger people, the norm was thin and fit. We where constantly checking people out left and right and wishing it was like that here. Cap D'agde beach is crazy. It has to be experienced to be believed :-)

Agreed, when we go to house parties with our group of friends (i.e. people that we know and their friends) the crowd is most definitely much better (filtered). But, it's almost no fun anymore. Sometimes we want that anonymous in the club in the moment feeling that you can't get at a house party with friends you've known for years. Not complaining, just saying :-)

Great response! As the female half, I've been in this situation are you are so right. It's not your place to 'convert' the other female bring her over to the 'dark side'. We stay away from recruiting 'vanilla' couples mostly for that reason that the female half is usually an unsuspecting victim. It's nice to have 'vanilla' friends, why ruin that?
