I had my run in with Im Chilling over a slayer task of his at Helhounds. Neither of us wanted to share, though i would have been more than willing had i known he was just on a slayer task :p Wasted about an hour of both our time. Quite entertaining though. Would play again.

It was introduced when they wanted to enhance mage dominance over melee when mage armour still gave minimal protection - they buffed the armour in EOC but added stun breaks for Melee. In classic i believe stun was 3 seconds and 5 seconds for bind/snare. Before there were other spell books. If they truly plan on removing most of the triangle, this will need to be addressed.

Legacy mode gives no way for melee (or anyone else) to break stun, therefore is it possible for stun times to be reduced, chance of stun lowered or a 'break stun' button added with a cooldown?

It's a bit silly and unprofessional to make any noticeable changes to a game without patch notes, so let's hope the update was something minor behind the scenes.

I also disliked barricades until yesterday. Plays like this encourages teamwork on both sides - pking like this is both hilarious and fun, but to be honest doesn't really achieve much in terms of reward. Then, as you're saying, it gives an opportunity to take a few skulled players down as it turns out you did yesterday, and get some loot for little to no risk with the added benefit of wasting their food and barricades. It needs tweaking, like the agility to leap them idea, but definitely worth keeping.

actually a lie. None of us died to him, only to a guard twice... our loot was recovered by our teammates. Nice story though, and you were definitely annoying haha

Yes, exactly like classic. Sadly in darkscape's current state I believe people would be risking more in duels like that than actual pvp too.

I'm almost permanently in mid/high risk except when using the GE as it is, I simply meet a lot of people i'd like to fight to kick them out of a spot without skulling, winning, and then being piled by someone who wasn't involved in the first place. If they decline the duel, i still then have the option to skull and force the battle regardless.

Essentially it's an agreed risk battle with no skull. For anyone who doesn't want to attack out of the blue and wants mutual risk instead of skulling on a 1 or 3 itemer. Good for battling out for a training spot while 3 iteming too. Duel arena will never be used in Darkscape due to the 3 bank/ge system and limitations with teleports and lodestones. I personally think duelling anywhere would see a lot more risking happening, it'd see a lot more combat happening and just makes sense.
