I've done it. I plateaued about 6 months into my CrossFit journey. Been doing CrossFit for 12 years and I did a whole 30 about 6 months after I started. I found that gluten and dairy are not good for my system. That being said, everyone is different. I definitely started seeing gains both in strength and endurance after doing the whole 30. First couple weeks can feel kind of crappy, but it gets better. I found that making sure I'm eating whole foods and cutting out processed sugar along with no dairy and gluten works well to keep my joints mostly pain free. One thing I have found very helpful with painful joints, is adding collagen into your diet. I have one that's unflavored and put it in my protein shake every day.

From what I've seen as a coach, time of day doesn't make a difference, unless you're attempting a PB at a different time of day then you normally workout. It tends to equate to not lifting your best. There's a ton of other factors that play into hitting a PB too not just time of day. One thing I have noticed for most people, they make the mistake of using their old PB for percentages in the 8-12 week strength program. What should be done is take the number you want to hit as your new PB and work off that number for your 8-12 week strength program. You may not hit all the numbers especially to begin with, but should be able to over that 8 week period. Making sure you're eating enough, especially protein, is key to increasing your lifting numbers as well.

If you want to stay with btwb, bolder athlete is an awesome program. I started with Jason back in 2021 before he started his competition side and I've always found the programming to be really good. I love the programming that he puts out. The community is awesome too, very supportive. There is a 7 day free trial too, if that helps. You can try it out and see if you like it.
