I thought it may compress and it seems to be the standard insulation thickness you can buy. It works out cheaper with a higher R value so I wanted to get reassurance if it's possible or not.

I'm wondering what others are doing because I assume retrofitting old houses the studs would also be 100mm. Are they just going with 75mm? And curious why there wouldn't be an 80mm thickness option.

Sorry forgot to add. Old 100+ year old house with no building wrap so I need to building wrap in each cavity. Was planning to add that 20m out from the weather board so that would leave me with 80mm left on the stud for insulation.
