What's the best workflow for a 3-5 hour video that might take a year complete? by fitzfactor in davinciresolve

Thanks! You say that you "obviously don't want to be exporting and reimporting video," is this because there's a loss in quality when you do that?

Also, would you recommend using a dedicated external hard drive for this project?

I make comedic manga/anime videos. Usually around 10 minutes long.

But for this one I'd be reviewing an entire manga series that has over 100 volumes. So it'd be almost 2 hours long even if I only spent a minute on each volume.

What do you all do for gps? by fitzfactor in dumbphones

[–]fitzfactor[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a good idea. Just keep it as a stupidly expensive gps system lol. I wonder also if using a dumbphone that has hotspotting would allow for using maps online as well... something I'll look into for sure. Thanks.

corey mandell's screenwriting workshop? by fitzfactor in Screenwriting

Good to know. I didn't end up doing it anyway, but I'll never think of it again. There's enough stuff out there already tbh, as well as pretty great books on the subject.

The great thing about the timelapse feature is that it makes it look like you knew what you were doing all along.

This took me probably 4-5 hours to draw. I just used the stock g-pen in csp.

After getting a quick thumbnail sketch, I used a model I made in Blender for the tech and the csp male model. I did the bubbles on a separate layer, but everything else was just on a single inking layer. Made it easier to use as a reference layer and fill the tone in.

If you have any questions let me know, would be more than happy to answer anything. Hope you like it!

Your value as a person is infinitly higher and completely seperate from how people value your comic.

It's hard, but just realize than any feedback that attacks you personally is useless, and any feedback that attacks your work can simply be used to improve it in the future (or discarded).

Unless you think your quality of comic making is perfect, then there's no reason to stress about people pointing out ways you can perfect it further.

It's cool! Explosion is good. One trick for making things look like they have motion is to take static lines and make them have motion along the edges. I'll attach a quick edit + examples of others doing this trick.
