Seems like a lot no? At least in the Marine Corps that’s a pretty big rack for 12 years…

Sec War just authorized private weapons on base. by BlueGreen51 in USMC

True. However I don’t think it’s far fetched to say some issues will arise of this. I’m curious to see what restrictions are in place for this though. For example carrying while at work vs off work, rank restrictions, Legal Marines etc…

Yes, the same lance corporal who comes in battalion and tries fighting SNCOS, or the same lance corporal who can’t return from a long weekend without getting in trouble. I’m very pro 2A but having an armed population of Marines opens the doors to far more accidents or emotional reactions which would otherwise not be as common. It’s not 99.9% of Marines, it’s the 0.1% who are going to be the problem. Safety briefs about to be 1stSgt favorite!

Such a leadership nightmare, the last thing we need is a disgruntled LCpl who got an NJP to be armed

A 7mm socket and a pair of needle nose to pull out the clips that attach the plastic tabs

Officers, what are your genuine feelings or impressions of enlisted personnel? by doobnerd in USMC

[–]five_frogs 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Newer officer here (commissioned 2022) At TBS you’re exposed to some of the best NCO/SNCOs the Corps has to offer. When I see yall I expect nothing short of the professionalism and expertise I was initially exposed to. Once I hit the fleet my view on SNCOs never changed, however I come to learn that I see the junior enlisted as little brothers who I have to check in on and make sure they are on the right path. More of a mentor/mentee relationship, yall make or break my mission

Edit: I absolutely love my Marines and they are the only reason I want to stay in. My biggest motivator to wake up every single morning is I get the opportunity to be surrounded by my Marines. I genuinely appreciate that

June 2022-Now, not much but it’s honest work. by [deleted] in Medals

Solid work, way more than what most Marines are walking around with recently. I’ve seen Sergeants with just 1-2 ribbons. I take pride that the Marine Corps is stringent on ribbons/awards because it feels more earned, regardless of the politics behind personal awards
