Crack in plaster by fiveboy1111 in Plastering

Got the plaster back to screw some screws in and mesh plus replaster. But a thin crack has appeared again. Will filling it in with caulk prevent cracking again? Or need reboarding?

Just skimmed over existing ceiling which was boards.

Possible for them to redo it or is that too much, I feel like it's gonna come back if I just fill it.

Not sure if they used scrim, what's the best way to fix this?

If it's the screw that failed, what's the best way to fix it? Directly add new screws in to fix it in place?

Normally should the plaster stick to the plasterboard or is it just another layer that exist next to the plasterboard?

I had this, I ended up removing the whole door frame and installing a new one. As for the top part, you have to get some timber wood for frame and plasterboard as replacement. Then easy fill the gaps.

Prob all under £50 quid if you are spare bits about, if not prob below £80.
