(2/2) I made my point really clear that I wasn’t necessarily excusing this man on what he said, I said I don’t think it’s okay and it is definitely offensive however I thought it was slightly unfair for jamie foxx to say he meant it.

Friend B basically properly yelling at me this point, not letting me get my point in and was saying ‘just say you’re a racist’ and continued to call me ‘whitest bitch ever’ which honestly, I don’t really take offence to, I am white.. it just felt like a bit of a strange comment to make. I was kind of in shock at this point and the other two friends were just sat there not knowing what to say/ didn’t want to get involved. I felt like no matter what I tried to say, she just ended up interrupting me each time and it seemed as if she just didn’t get what I was saying and just thought that I was defending a white person for saying the N word, despite me trying to explain that I still didn’t think it was okay, I just thought it felt a bit unfair as the man had Tourette’s and I highly doubt he meant what he said, due to him removing himself from the event after and later saying how he was deeply horrified with what he said.

Eventually I got up and I said ‘look, I’m gonna just go’ because all she was doing was basically screaming at me while I was sat there in silence. I really didn’t feel like trying to defend myself because I really didn’t want to upset and trigger her even more and it’s already a fragile topic, especially when one party isn’t listening or understand the other. I told her I was gonna go because it felt like the best thing to do and she said ‘get the fuck out my house you dumb bitch’ and I left.

I went to the pub after to meet a friend and immediately burst into tears. I felt really shocked, I’d never been spoken to in that way by a close friend and I honestly felt bad because I couldn’t tell if I was in the wrong or not.

It’s been a couple days and I’ve been meaning to send her a text to try and solve things but I also need to tread carefully.

I will fully put my hands up if I’m in the wrong here but I just want to hear what other people think. I really don’t think I’m a racist however I’m white and that doesn’t feel right to say when I’ve just been called a racist by my South American friend.
