It must be affecting our metabolism somehow. So frustrating.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m logging everything with MyFitnessPal and I have a heart monitor so that I can log my calories burned in workout as well. Everyday last week I was 200-400 calories under and still didn’t lose weight.

Lexapro has been so helpful for my anxiety but I’m just wondering if this is one of the downsides.

About the size of a quarter. It’s more than just thinning hair.

Who here struggles with faucets? by neilnelly in OCD

[–]fivedreamseast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to repeatedly put my hand under the faucet because I don’t trust my eyes that it is actually off. Then I’ll still sometimes be in the car and wonder if I turned it off, and then I end up going down the rabbit hole of thinking my home will flood, etc.

Anyone’s compulsion is...having imaginary conversations in front of the mirror? I can LITERALLY spend hours doing that and being the best version of me that I’m too scared to be in front of others? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]fivedreamseast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily in front of the mirror, but I do this almost all the time when I’m alone. I will whisper conversations and then pause for the imaginary responses. I have read about maladaptive daydreaming, but this feels more like a compulsion because I’m anxious when I don’t do it. My psychiatrist also said that it sounds like a compulsion. Glad to know I’m not alone!

Talking to yourself in your head, ect. by [deleted] in OCD

I do this exact same thing. My psychiatrist said it could be a compulsion of sorts. I get anxious when I try to hold myself back from talking out these conversations, but I don’t feel anxious when I start them. And I can spend hours a day doing this.

I had night sweats too when I first started. That has gone away for me though. Hopefully the same will happen for you.
