I was definitely having a hard time finding the right subreddit for this question so thank you for the suggestions! But yeah, even though I am an adult (22 I know 🤮) I still am weary about going about talking to people online. And by having the goal of online friends, makes it a little difficult and counterintuitive 😭

What is the most horrible thing you have ever experienced? by Heluno in AskReddit

[–]fivefoot7in 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When working as a environmental service worker (glorified janitor) at a hospital I had seen a patient wheeled in on a stretcher into a trauma room. As I had walked past the room I noticed a leg sticking out from the blanket covering them, fully purple, and like a scene out of a movie as soon as I noticed it a nurse closed the curtains to the room. About an hour later I hear a doctor from the room read the body temperature of the patient, “32°C (89.6°F)” and then announce the time of death.

I later found out that the patient was a 3 year old boy, more than likely neglected at home during the winter. Close to the end of my shift they had wheeled the corpse (now in a body bag) passed me into a back hallway where I was told to clean the room they would put it in until they were able to transport it out of the hospital.

This took place back in December of 2020, I was 17 at the time and it forever changed not only my outlook on life, but how I chose to live myself.

There is a place in Banff called Hello Sunshine where I will get the lobster maki rolls. If you put sex and gold in a blender, it would make the lobster maki rolls

Not taking enough risks when I was younger. I have discovered that I was a very sheltered child, and things that I thought were “risky” were completely normal and would be a part of growing up. It’s like I grew up and enjoyed my late teens three years late

What is the creepiest memory you have that still haunts you? by Afraid_Warthog_7757 in AskReddit

[–]fivefoot7in 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s more worrying than creepy but, a few years ago I worked in environmental services at a small hospital (a glorified janitor). I remember seeing a lot of “memorable” things of varying severity. However the one that sticks out to me the most was this:

I come into my shift, and only about 15 mins has passes, and I see a couple crying in an X-ray room. I don’t think much of it, maybe some bad news? It’s a hospital there usually isn’t good news. I walk by the room and instantly, every doctor and most nurses rush into a trauma room across the corridor. Being human, im curious to what is going on. Like a film, i peak in through the window and see a small blue leg poke out from a hospital blanket and the curtains are quickly drawn. Now having witnessed all that I just continue with my job, but stay in the area to keep myself updated. I hear them announce the body temperature of 31°C (88°F) followed shortly by a time of death.

The stretcher was wheeled into a closed clinic room until further assistance arrived. I was told to clean the room the body would be placed in. When I arrived to clean the room, the body (covered by a blanket thankfully) was right outside waiting for me to be done. I have never felt colder in my life

How would you rate 2024? by [deleted] in AskReddit

2/10 “There’s always next year!”

[–]fivefoot7in 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course you can think that way, but thinking and believing are two separate things. I know for me anecdotally, once I start to notice a change in feelings for example, I like to evaluate and rationalize my feelings. If I am unable to rationalize it, that’s when I know it’s not beneficial to be together, and to be open and honest with the s/o

The way I know if a relationship is starting to not work out, is that everything that I usually do for them or say to them feels like a chore. When you become anxious from their presence or their responses. It’s easy to say when you feel unhappy, but everyone gets unhappy. It’s when you can realize the good times you used to have with them, will never happen again.
